Hi Pools fans,
I'm writing a book about Peter Shilton's reign as Plymouth boss, and I was hoping to speak to your manager that season.
Soccerbase lists it as John McPhail - though by that spelling that'd make it the former Celtic and Scotland player! Was it in fact John MacPhail - your former centre-back?
Any idea where he is now?

Big John MacPhail, played for York and Sunderland before us I recall.

I think I heard he was selling cars somewhere in the region nowadays.

I was talking to John McPhail quite recently while looking for a new car. He currently works for RMB Teesside in Stockton. He didn't convince me to but a Toyota though.

Thanks a lot chaps. That's really helpful.
Hopefully John will agree to chat to me, though I doubt he has very happy memories of your home game against us on the last day of 93/94...

Thanks again.

We lit a bonny on the Millhouse terrace that day and burnt loads of banners, season tickets, other general rubbish! rolfl

Nearly as bad as that bloke who chucked his pie at Sweeney at Crewe. He missed him like but what a waste of a pie.

For those who accuse me of being a Jonah I was only told about it .

Repetitious jokes do tend to run in your family, don't they?  Mentioning no names, mind

Nothing runs in our family.

Running is for girls and they can't do it properly either, all elbows, knocky knees and tits. stpid stpid stpid

Even Paula Radcliffe has to stop for a wee. Probably because she spent too much time talking before she set off and didn't 'get chance to go.....'
