Surely if you have "played at a reasonable level" you should of had your boots on, Maybe you might of only lost 9-1 !!

I told you to bring on 'Foley' with 2 minutes to go - he could have run them ragged. Still as long as pride wasn't lost. Do you still think you can make the play offs?

In defense of the keepers, it was only 7-1, but we need to change the penalty taker, it could have been so much closer.

It wasn't 10-1 it was 7-1 and we were under big pressure in the second half with the wind against us. Anyway as far as i'm concerned the score didn't matter as long as everyone enjoyed themselves and had a game of footy.

It sure beats arguing about messageboards doesn't it?

Hopefully we can have another game soon? rolf rolf rolf

i think more effort is required from the bunker lads in future, no doubt the team selection and tactics will of been baffling as well as the substatutions. You haven't just let yourselves down but you've let this whole 'community' down....

My ankle is knackered, thank god five a-side isn't on tomorrow. rage

Good knock about in harsh conditions against a far superior team and I thought we did well considering we'd never played together and we weren't used to that size pitch.

I thought we did pretty well overall.

For a 'team' that has only been playing indoor 5-a-side for a couple of months, to be only 6 goals behind an established league team after an hours play was a good effort.

Considering we've never actually all played on the same side and we played into the gale force wind in the first half in was a good first run out.

I had two efforts saved in the final few minutes which I was disappointed with, add them to the penalty miss and it could easily have been 7-4.

Top effort by our keepers as well like, kept the score down.

I've been playing 5-a-side for quite a few years new, I'm not the slimmest of blokes but I consider myself capable of getting round a 5-a-side court comfortably, that pitch was a different ball game though, I'm suffering a bit this morning, it's just what you are used to I guess.

May I humbly suggest that a rematch be held indoors and make it 5-a-side. The outdoor pitch was not condusive to our complete lack of mobility.

Match ratings;

Groovy Crimes - 7 - can't really be blamed for any of the goals (all 23 of them!)
Billingham Poolie - 9 - Had a stormer, pulled off some great saves, contender for MOM.

Yupeb - 8 - Solid enough but kept forgetting he was a defender.
Chunky Monkey - 7 - would have been a higher mark but for the first penalty miss of his career.
Aido - 8 - Not a bad debut, needs to show up on a Wednesday to enhance his career.
Manny - 7 - Often had to come with 3 or 4 of the opposition breaking from midfield on his own.

Kolley Kibber - 7 - Big things were expected but didn't quite live up to the hype, better suited up front in future?
Ripper - 7 - passed a late fitness test but showed a distinct lack of it!
PtBap - 7 - Forged a lone furrow up the wing with very little support.

ECG - 8 - maybe a bit generous, put in a lot of graft but didn't see enough of his trademark "blammers"
Billingham junior - 9 - Another contender for MOM, ran everywhere and put in some great tackles against blokes twice his size.
Tax Paying Poolie - 7 - surprised at his injury as very little movement was seen from him all night.
Mouldy Old Dough - 7 - a sterling cameo from the team's veteran for the last 5 mins.

Chip Fireball - 7 - as a player, ran about a bit but another who failed to live up to the pre-match hype. Game was lost before he came on, needs to play from the start.
- 5 - as a manager, did a lot of shouting from the side but most of the instructions were telling people to run, so a waste of time really. Failed to play to the team's strengths (although no one is quite sure what they are) and for some bizarre reason, didn't introduce the only player to have played at a decent level, until the mid way through the second half.

Over all, we were well and truly hammered by a much more skillful and faster team. Nobody cared though as a good time was had by all.

I can concur with that although the ratings are a little generous!

The size of the bloody pitch surprised me- twice the size of the 7-a-side thingys through at Borer. I was knackered just looking at it!

Rating the manager a 5?

To be honest his lack of experience showed a lot, we were way too static especially up front and lacking legs in midfield. I think that he needs to play me higher up the pitch in future with a remit not to have to track back.

And if that was his nominated penalty taker then he wants shooting- the bloke couldn't even hit the target!!!

I wouldn't worry to much about CM's comments, the fact that he gave himself a 7 says it all about the value of his assessment.

One game and already you have come out with more premiershite excuses than Arsene Wenger over a full season.

You got hammered and you embarrassed the good name of the bunker.

If we win, do you still think we can make the play-offs?

I think everyone would be up for anything that could be arranged.

The English Martyrs astro pitches that me, Chip and Groovy played on two weeks ago would be more suitable for us. You can adjust the size of the pitch yourself and I hate the rule where you can't go in the area- totally pointless if you ask me.

I'm not too bothered about last night, the conditions in the first half made going forward virtually impossible and As KK said last night we were playing against lads that play in the top divisions around here.

The first half we were playing up a very slope pitch against a gale force wind.

They played us off the pitch for the majority of the game. We should really have packed the defence and midfield in the first half and kept one up front, due to them having the wind and the fitness, but we didn't and it cost us. No doubt we would have been beaten anyway but it could have been tighter. It was a good run out though and hopefully next time we can make a game of it. If we play again I want a shot up front!

*blantant advert*

I've got a pair of Nike Tiempo's for sale, size 10.5, worn once for an hours indoor five-a-side, they felt great in the shop, too big when I started playing, I like the feel of the boot though, so I went back and got a size 10, much better!

Cost £27 new (http://www.sportsdirect.com/product-Nik ... 269079.htm) from Dalton Park, I'd take a tenner less than that to save me bothering with ebay.

Very understated boots, unlike Rippers rolfl

Before anybody asks, receipt and box went to the big landfill near the power station before I wore then, stupid I know.

next time i will be playing the likes of dibble and muttley, lads what have played at a reasonable level.
You left me on the bench for Aido who has never been to our 5-a-side ever you have hurt me gaffer. violin

Although in fairness Mr Aido was one of our better players on the night.

i started with the 8 lads who were at 5 a side the previous wednesday as an act of loyalty.

some of those suggesting i should have started with our strongest team may want to reflect on the fact that if i had done that they wouldnt have been playing.

Err....you were playing the lads from our Monday night six a side team. confised

With a makeshift goalie as our regular one pulled out due to a bad back.

so when you said none of your lads play sunday mornings and that they were all fat, old, and unfit you lied ?

I never mentioned anything about Sunday mornings chip. Anyway only Gofton who plays for West Park and is 34, and our 20 stone striker who had a pot on and plays in the second division, play on a Sunday morning. The rest of us just play on a Monday night and 4 of the team smoke 20 a day. I suppose the fact that we play together regular helped a bit. We like to play a quick passing and moving game and ball to feet, which as a manager i think is the way forward

if gofton is 34, my cock is a bloater  ireland plays on a sunday morning at a good level, totty is a decent player and so is ray bailey. mick, you played more ringers than a campanologists convention.

Gofton is 34 I think. Coincidentally it is also the amount he loves himself out of 10!
