Why

It has nada to with him and I have as much chance of sorting it as he has..............

The word from my VERY reliable inside source is the council WILL NEVER sell the ground to IOR, but quite oddly they WILL win the local and national elections.....

I don't know why they both can't come clean with their proposals/ objections. Sensitive details could be omitted. A general work in progress report would be a good start. After all it is not the council who own the ground it is the people of Hartlepool.

I've never thought of it that way but that is absolutely true....so if anyone from HUFC are reading this....I'm willing to sell my share of the Ground to you!!!! :sweeeet:

And I'm quite sure the majority on this Board will do the same!!!! :sweeeet:

It might be worth pointing out that the Mayor is not directly involved in the decision making process as he was ruled out. As a season ticket holder he had to declare an interest thus he is ineliglble. Theres a sub commitee working on it with Pools to come to an agreement. Eventually!

Because no-one is serious about getting rid of the sycophantic gets....... rage rage

We've tried to get the ball rolling but it seems we are just one big talking shop..... banghead banghead

It wasnt a dig at your efforts or anyone elses

It's just quite sad that more people are interested in voting on crap like BBC1's reality shows and Big Brother then in local and national elections

Don't councillors get paid an attendance allowance for every meeting they go to? It might help expalin why there is unlikely to be a resolution of this issue before the club's bicentenary rage. They need an incentive (big stick) to make sure that they arrive at an early agreement. Whilst Mayor Drummond might not be able to get directly involved perhaps he could think of an incentive - like naming those who are obstructing an agreement in advance of the next council elections.

By all accounts the people on the committee are open to the idea of selling the ground.

Swansea and Hull city councils = forward thinking and produced two fantastic sporting arenas, which raises the profile and esteem of two long-time also-ran sporting clubs in both places (i.e. both rugby and football teams). Those teams can reach their potential now.
Hartlepool council = backwater straw-chewing thick uneducated sponging out-for-all-they-can-get Luddites, who couldn't care less if IOR walks away. Doesn't help local business AT ALL - I can personally vouch for this. I'm not hopeful at all that such backwards people are capable of doing the right thing by the club and the town.

I've got a solution to this problem- why don't the council sell the pitch to the fans in 1x1 meter squares and the ground to the club-hence raising much needed funds for the tall ship's race in 2010 plus it the securers that Hartlepool will always have a club in the town.

IOR will be happy they can develop the ground-the council will be happy that they have just raised x amount of money for the TSR and the fans will be happy that the club can not be sold to developers.

everyone a winner

That sounds a typical politician's answer. The translation of which is " I'd probably do it if my life/seat depended upon it but I ain't getting off the gravy train till then. Don't watch this space.".

I think it was Snowy who remarked that a council committee meeting is just a euphemism for a political cul-de-sac where hopes and dreams are lured into, and massacred by the councillors in the style of mafia hitmen with machine guns

It's hardly quantum physics.... committee meets, draws up list of pro's and cons, decides either way, simple innit? The whole thing should take a maximum of a day to pontifcate over, are they waiting till the elections are over in May?

More likely waiting UNTIL the elections come May so they can be Mr Nice Guy in the run up. Either way, it's not important unless it's a 'no.'

Then we burn the bastads ((c)ADG) out. clappp clappp
