I will admit now that I was one of those tossers at the beginning of last season when things were not going to plan. But Mr. Wilson made me eat Humble Pie.

I am not saying that Danny boy is the worlds greatest manager, but, when he took over I would have been delighted if he gained promotion, and then survived. Even if that meant finishing 5th bottom.

OK so he has made mistakes, but getting rid of Danny Wilson will be catastrphic. How many managers have we had in the last 10 years? 9 is the answer. that will make us look like a joke to other managers who will be offered the job, and will not install confidence in them coming. that is considering the play-off and promotion success we have had in the last decade.

Feb 1999 - Mick Tait
Feb 1999 - Paul Baker / Brian Honour
Nov 2002 - Chris Turner
Nov 2002 - Colin West
May 2003 - Mike Newell
May 2005 - Neil Cooper
Jan 2006 - Martin Scott
June 2006 - Paul Stephenson
Present - Danny Wilson

Now consider that Newell & Cooper all built good solid squads and still got the chop after the success they brought. then follow that up with Danny Wilson gaining promotion and then finishing Mid-Table in his first season, and still got the sack. Who is going to want to come and work with a chairman like that?

We have to give him at least another season at the helm!!!!

Anyone else agree?

So because we've had 9 Managers in the last 10 years we have to keep Wilsoon....even though he constantly changes things when there is no need, play players out of position, doesn't play players at all etc etc!!!! confised confised

On paper our squad should be up there at least challenging for the Play-Offs but due to Wilsoon fecking about we aren't and could have been fighting relegation if it wasn't for other teams going into admin and having points deducted and selling on their better players etc etc!!!! confised

Baker/Honour, West and Stephenson can not possibly be classed as full time managers.
In reality the club has had six managers in that time under IOR. Let's look at the mitigating factors in each case.

Tait (sacked, but who was never really good enough, and was inherited by IOR)

Turner (first IOR- appointed boss, left of his own accord)

Newell (personality clash with the chairman, never going to win so contract not renewed)

Cooper (who was ousted in reality by the assistant manager and certain players)

Scott (first big mistake made by IOR in managerial appointments, and the only all-round rank bad manager we've had since Tait)

Wilson - still here

I make that four managers' contracts terminated by IOR, and one of them had not been appointed by IOR.

At present he is doing an ok job. He has improved from a run of a few months where he picked bizarre line ups.

Frank, is that not an example of the very thing that you've been complaining about in the site?

There's one blindingly shiny fact that no-one has taken into consideration in all the conjecture that's been batting about on here for about five months. sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

Who, in this squad has ever played at Championship level or above?? confised confised

Err........Robbie Elliott. Did Liddle get a game for Boro?? I don't think so I haven't checked, I seem to recall he played in the Carling Cup or summat once. McCunnies Scottish team couldn't have held their own in the Championship, they'd have got eat. You can argue that one if you will. Boland has. That's about it.

Now half of you hate Boland, half are on the fence, you all don't like Robbie Elliott.

So, and here's the 64 pie question. Drum roll:::::::: clappp clappp clappp

Why on earth do you think that these players should be challenging for the Championship, and not only that, why do you think they'd be talented enough to stay there if they got there??

Monky, Porter and Brown. Do you all really think they'll take us up and keep us there?? stpid stpid

So why is it Danny Wilsons fault??

I'm not expressing an opinion, I am genuinely intrigued to know the train of thought. Play offs yes, promotion no. That's where I was, he hasn't fallen that far short with an average squad.

And yes I know I haven't been,..but...oh fu...

I'm surprised that for once the poll choices weren't "yes" and "yes".

YES!! If club is ambitious he should go , he isnt a bad manager but he isnt good either, like I say its whether or not the club are ambitious enough. I think Wilson knows what is required but I doubt the money would be there to buy the players needed or whether we could attract them anyway.
