I'm looking forward to watching the Mackems beat the Hammers in the last minute.

Sorry :uhoh: ... tell you what, I've got a manual for a Gardner engine, a 6LX, I 'll just do a few posts about the lubricating system, the crankshaft and the bearings, that should even up the balance, there won't be dry eye on the board, the tears of boredom will be streaming down your cheeks....of your face

I tell you what, as marine engines go the Gardner 6LX was a bimmler.

The early Gardner's never had oil seals but used the scroll method to keep the oil in the crankcase. The LX or 150 engine has the 14 to 1 compression ratio pistons fitted. Engines fitted with these pistons suffered from white smoke on cold start-up, later this problem was resolved by the use of 15 to 1 compression ratio pistons. These later pistons also suffered top ring groove wear until the introduction of the steel insert which solved the problem.

You know you've got a good engine if you're riding a Gardner 6LX

Gardner 6LX, once described as a.....' willing workhorse that does as it's told and just goes on and on , a totally predictable and basic piece of kit'.....you have a lot in common.
