I win! Didn't the Barron Knights do a cover of that song - called Anne and Joe?

Long ago, outside a chip shop in Walthamstow
Was a young rocker called Greasy Joe
Who put on his helmet and said 'lets go'

He was keen
Off up the high street like Barry Sheene
Doing his best to look very mean
Till he met Ann on her new machine

Brrummminn away together
Brrummminn away in leather
Ann and Joe

They passed the Bloody Tower
At a hundred miles an hour
And they were so amazed
That Tower Bridge was raised
They raced up to the top
And found they couldn't stop
They flew right off the end
And landed in the Thames
Hand in hand.

Talk about blindness, it wasn't until I just looked at the youtube clip that I realised after all these years how much of an Abba rip-off B of M were, even down to the choice of sound-alike song titles!

I saw them live at the Fiesta in Stockton, on a works Christmas night out in 1976, I think they were good, but can't be certain because of the influence of alcohol on the night. confised
