Can't really afford to be shelling out at the moment and could do with channelling my money elsewhere so I think that's me for the season. No real chance of reaching thet play-offs and safe from relegation, which I would have settled for at the start of the season. Let's hope we can be up there challenging next season. No doubt most of you will be calling for Wilson's head and one or two will be praying IOR leave. stpid Keep the faith! rolf

A true fan speaks. I bet you were there when we were getting 1300 against Halifax in the 90's

I've been gong since 1977 mate and was part of a home league gate of 900 and something pre-IOR. It's all to do with money. I am in a similar position to Chip's at the moment in that I can't really afford to go to all the games. A situation which will have changed by the time the new season starts.

Rae should be recalled from loan, and given a couple of run outs before the end of the season, likewise a few other fringe players who are ones for the future. It's a perfect situation regarding can't go up, can't go down - nothing to lose in trying.

Agree about Rae. Mackay has been given a chance and delivered. Surely Rae should be given the same opportunity?

I'm sure Rae pulled a hamstring and is out for a month Parmo.

was part of a home league gate of 900 and something pre-IOR.

That's about 3,500 at that game at the last count, oh aye and no doubt Mr Chip went twice

Nice one Mr Chip, I knew you had, that's what I was saying wasn't I, I knew we could rely on you to be there  50 games in a season a few times takes some doing mind, can't remember that many good cup runs, oh unless you mean the good old days like the play offs

It doesn't prove anything Mr Chip, I'll have seen you at all of them and I realise everyone that get's involved in posting on this board are Hartlepool fans whether they go or not, and that'll do for me, but why can't you and many others like you hold your hands up sometimes, and say that was hard luck it wasn't really anyones fault, they all pulled there puddings out for the cause but we got beat.
For trying to pin the blame on Danny Boy for us missing a penalty sctatchinghead what difference would it have made if Danny Boy had nominated someone and he had missed.
Our only recognised penalty takers on the pitch at the time I think have already said they weren't prepared to take another one (Humps and Porter) Mr Ticklehill said Craddock hadn't taken a penalty before in league football so why should we have let him take that one, well nobody has till they take the first one stpid and who else one the pitch had sctatchinghead

46 league games, league cup, ldv vans, fa cup, and yes play off games. they all add up. to over 50.

i hadnt missed a home game for 8 seasons, before this one, so thats usually about 28 games a season, just for them, before you bring play offs into the equation.

at the end of the day so what. what does it prove? it proves nothing other than at the time i had too much money and nothing better to do with my life.

i actually pity you if getting pissed while trailing around the country watching pools is all your life amounts to.

there you go again mr chip are you sure he gets pissed all over the country or are you just assuming again sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

So if every fan adopted your policy, there wouldn't even be a 900 crowd....just tumbleweeds blowing across the terracing as everyone decides there's nowt to play for and we're safe......

i wasnt blaming anyone. i certainly didnt blame the manager for the defeat, i simply expressed disbelief that nobody was nominated to take the penalties.

someone suggested that if barker had played we would have got something out of the game.

you suggested if we had scored from the penalty we would have won the game.

someone else suggested that porter didnt have the balls to take the penalty.

its all hypothetical.

you could just as easily argue that if barker had scored from the spot at rochdale last season we would have won the league.

who cares now ?

like i said on the other thread, about barker hurrying up and coming back, we played well and lost. we have played well in the four games when he has been injured, so it proves we can do okay without him.

todays result was of no great signifigance anyway other than to those unrealistic types on here that still thought pools could make the play offs.

hopefully wilson will now give some first team minutes to some of the younger fringe players to see how they cope and to give them some experience.

There you go again Mr Chip, slightly mis quoting hoping no-one picks up on it, what I said was if we'd scored the penalty I think everyone in the ground was of the opinion we would have gone on to win the game.
And by the way, the game looked pretty significant to the players, I think they still believed the play offs where in sight and I haven't seen the league table today but I wonder where the 3 points would have put us, yes I know hypothetical.

Any particular reason you want to see ALB released? He hasn't exactly done anything wrong, and bringing Dimi back is pointless - if he had wanted to play for us still he wouldn't have left on a FREE transfer last season. We might aswell resign Adam Boyd, Chris Westwood & Mark Tinkler while were at it!
