Lee-Barrett 7 : Not a great deal to do but looked secure and pretty confident. Couple of brave claims of the ball mised in with some indifferent kicking, but generally ok.

McCunnie 7 : Good steady game and grew in confidence and attacking threat, especially in the second half. pinpoint corner for the first goal and very solid.

Nelson 8 : Gets better each game alongside his new oppo. Steady, composed and much better distribution.

Collins 9 : Superb again. Commanding in the air, and a good organiser. Great calming influence, and another added bonus with his great goal.

Humphreys 7 : Struggled a bit in the first half, but much better in the second. Never let Kamara get the better of him and put in some crunching tackles. Still looks better going forward and he has a good understanding with Monky.

Sweeney 7.5 : Another one who had a much better second half. Looked a constant threat after the break and probably should have score at least once, if not twice. growing into the role and getting more confident with the ball at his feet.

Liddle 7 : Better game than at the weekend. Pulled a few more strings and seems to have the balance of duties right with Boland. Always wants the ball and starts off a lot of attacks by doing the simple things right.

Boland 8 : One of his better games. Still conceded a bit too much possession but was tigerish in getting it back. Set a good example for the team and inspired one period of pressure where we forced them back twenty yards whiel they were in possession. Gets better as Pools form improves.

Monky 7 : Great man to have in your team. Plenty of niggles and gave as good as he got. Goes past players with ease and linked up with Porter and Humphreys really well in the second half. Brilliant to have him back and he makes all the difference.

Porter 9.5 : It's only not a ten, because he started off statueing a bit at the start when he felt he'd been fouled. After that, he gave as good a performance as I've seen him give. Harried, hassled and kept the ball superbly. Made Page look a mug on more than one occasion. An almost perfect performance, keep it up Joel.

Mackay 8.5 : What can you say about the lad ? Scored a real opportunist goal and could have had four. His chest, turn and shot in the second half was top class, and he literally never stopped running all night in the cause. Bit more composure and awareness and he'd be taking the ball home tonight. keeps his place for me on merit.

The score didn't really reflect the level of Pools performance against a useful Huddersfield side who were a handful going forward. No mention of the P word yet from me, but three points on Saturday and who knows. Excellent team performance; solid and resolute at the back and pacy and inventive going forward. Great stuff clappp clappp clappp clappp

Very good Aido. You know your football. I think Collins looks a superb signing. And he scores goals as well!

Pretty much similar to Aido's...

Lee-Barrett 7 - Didn't have much to do. Couldn't do much about the goal from what I gather. I feel much more confident with him in goal and he certainly looks more comfortable.

McCunnie 7 - Keen on losing his rag here and there but a solid performance.

Nelson 6 - Okay, but didn't seem to have as much to do as usual. The odd dodgy clearance but it wasn't too difficult for him today.

Collins 9 - Brilliant. Scary looking bloke too. A scoring defender is quite nice but he's invincible.

Humphreys 7 - Good. Threw himself into it. Showing signs of age though - one more season methinks

Sweeney 7 - Didn't see much of him in the first half but showed loads of commitment in the second.

Liddle 7 - Did what he had to

Boland 8 - Great distribution at times, not showing his age at all. One of our better players on full form

Monky 9 - Brilliant. Omnipresent in the first half - made some great clearances throughout and was always pushing up when needed. Can't see him being out of the first 11 now.

Porter 9/10 - Reminded me of 2004. Absolutely dominant and ran around their defence - instrumental in the second goal.

Mackay 8 - Would like to see more of him. Missed a sitter (only had to take a touch before putting it away) and looked a bit tired later in the second half. Always charges at the keeper and can force mistakes though. Physically looks a bit like a young Craig Hignett

I was gonna say the same thing. It's the highlights and the stocky physique methinks. More his new style hair - I think the Hignett curtains of the mid-90s are a tragedy
