Barrett 7. A superb penalty save. Some other good shot stopping.

McCunnie 7. Solid.

Humphreys 8. Same old Richie.

Collins 8. Strodder reincarnated.

Nelson 7. A massive improvement. Confidence restored by competent partner. Send Antwi back

Sweeney 6. Worked hard.

Boland 7.

Liddle 7.

Monkhouse 8.

Porter 7. Rubbish in first 15. Did absolutely nothing right in second half. Scored great goal that only he and James Brown at the club have the ability to score

Mackay 7 Deserves a good run in the team.

Gillingham 3 - Comfortably the worst team we've played this year. But for a change we played well enough to make them look what they are.

I can't help noticing that to reach play-offs we may only need 68ish points this year. Two wins this week and I could get really stupidly carried away.

Boland was absolutely shite yesterday! Honestly, how you guys could give him a 7 I do not know. He wasted the ball every time he got it. I would give him a 4 and that is being pretty generous. The others all played well though

I thought Boland made a few mistakes but he did a bit of good stuff too. He certainly didn't waste the ball every time he got it, grave

I disagree, I think he wasted the ball way, way too much. He should definitely be replaced by Clark as he has been poor all season ans certainly not the player he was last year

Well, yes...I agree more with your second statement than with your first!

ALB 8 - saved a penner - bit wobbly first 15 - checked his placing and lines a lot and learning his trade whilst playing - well protected behind collins and nelson and will get better.

mccunnie 7.5 - great goal - didnt look troubled by their winger - didnt look troubled by owt except the weather with his polo-vest on - good steady game - did well in midfield as well

humphreys 6.5 - exposed a lot in the first 15 as all their chances came down that flank - still learning in that position and listened to Collins a lot - he's surrounded by old heads/better players on the whole and doesn't have the same impact on the team he used to when we were full of young uns - linked up a little better in 2nd half with monkhouse but looks out of position there.

nelson - 7 - did what he does better than what he has been doing so - looks a totally different player alongside collins

collins - 8 - a masterstroke of a signing to be honest - all season we have scored goals - all season we have leaked goals - he's played four games and had three clean sheets, scored once and has got rid of the ghost of antwi at last

boland - 7 - a good shift - always talking to monkhouse and didnt looked phased - tired a bit - but we know he's not a 90 minute player

liddle - 6.5 - quiet game yesterday -

sweeney - 7 - pushed well and covered well when dropped back for the clearly planned substitution

monkhouse - 7.5 languid performance - great opportunist strike - struggled early on defensively but he makes such a difference to the team

porter - 8.5 gets man of the match for one of those goals that you used to see the best player in school score - fantastic goal - could have had more too - ran his little legs off in the first half and tired quickly in the second - should have come off thinking about tuesday but there again he needed the 90 minutes after the bizarre dropping t'other week

mackay 7.5 - fast direct different style to barker - will he score as many as barker ? - unsure but the lad knows where the goal is altho i can see what he is going to do every time he gets that ball at his feet and may get sussed soon but he has a lot of potential.

robson - glad to see him involved
foley - did nothing for me
elliott - could have brought craddock on

Mackays flaw at present is he tends to drift backwards when we are defending for any length of time, means when we do clear the ball it comes straight back because we have no-one around the half way line to pick it up (or at least battle for it while we push out). He was told several times, but kept doing it. That is just lack of experience though, I think he has a lot of potential

A good, solid performance from the team and one of the better ones I've seen this season (I missed Oldham and Tranmere). Joel Porter's goal was worth the admission fee on its own, absolute top drawer and highlighted the flashes of quality the bloke can offer. Maybe he's not consistent but every team needs a player like him who can produce something out of nothing. I actually thought Boland played quite well. I've been critical of quite a lot of his performances this season but yesterday I felt that he didn't do much wrong at all and seemed more interested in getting involved in the game than he usually is. Humphreys was found wanting on numerous occasions and it is plainly obvious he isn't a left back but he got better as the game went on and we started to dictate the play. I'd much rather have him there than Elliott anyway. The central defensive pairing looked resolute throughout, Collins seems to be an astute signing. Mackay is a rough diamond who needs polishing; he drifted in and out of the game a lot but with a bit of work the lad could easily score a lot of goals at this level.

It was satisfying to see us finish a team off after going 2-0 infront. So many times this season we have thrown points away when going ahead. This was aided by the opponents on Saturday min, Gillingham were shocking, probably even worse than Luton and Port Vale. Roll on tuesday!

Agree with most of the ratings that have been posted but I would put it like this:

Barrett - 7 - Apart from a minor mistake when he fumbled in the first half, didnt do much wrong, slightly harsh penalty but a great save from it
McCunnie - 8 - Looked solid enough, seems to be almost back at full fitness. Made one and scored one!
Collins - 8 (Star Man) - Gave their centre forward(s) very little and is a no-nonsense centre half - clears the ball when needed!
Nelson - 7 - Unlucky not to score, didnt make any mistakes that I can remember
Humphreys - 6 - Not his best game but rather him than Elliott
Boland - 6 - One or Two mis-placed passes but was rarely troubled by Gillingham's midfield
Sweeney - 7 - Didnt stop running, few pieces of nice play aswell
Liddle - 7 - Quiet by his standards but efficient - still one of the best midfielders in the division on his day
Monkhouse - 8 - I dont think anyone can see why DW left him out, great performance - rightly got a standing ovation when substituted
Porter - 7.5 - Had a funny game, moments of brilliance shrouded by periods when you forget he is on the pitch
Mackay - 6 - Ran his socks off to no avail, hope he is picked for the Huddersfield game

Robson - 5 - Didnt really do anything when he came on
Foley - 5 - Quiet, again, dont really know what his best postion is, if he has one
Elliott - 5 - Was there any point in bringing him on for 8 minutes??
