Serious question, why 12 strings ?

gives a much brighter and fuller sound due to the way it's tuned (every other string in the 4 bass sets are tuned an octave higher than the normal string) although is a right arse to tune cause of the tensions involved on every other string. Too much effort if you ask me but then i'm happy with my simple telecaster violin (closest to a guitar smiley!)

Well my new one is a Gretsch-style electric hollow body. The acoustic 12-string I already had isn't too bad since all 12 strings are independent, but on this one you can't change one string without changing the pair!

Mr Townend, take a look at this:

Eastwood is also the make of my new 12-string.
And I happen to know the guy who imports them and he has one on order. In fact if he'd received it at the same time as mine I'm sure I would have come away with that too.
It's a snip at 260 quid.
