Strangely enough I was wondering whether or not to contemplate suicide tonight.

These are the business and they'll be back at my local before too long. Folkies, be there or be square.

I've got an ancient version by the man himself (1978)...on a battered LP that also contains 'It don't bother me' 'Nottamun Town' and 'Box of Love'.
I could try and record it for you if you like.....except that I'm a technical ignoramus sctatchinghead

I could get our kid to record it for you, then. I don't think the album is available any more so it's not doing Bert out of cash :

I'd not heard of them before but have now spent a happy while listening to some of their stuff. Like it a lot..will look out for them.
As for festivals, they're bloody expensive these days but that line up looks excellent.

Went to see Jez Lowe and the Pennies last Friday and enjoyed it muchly.
(I'm telling you this, and not Salty, as he doesn't like them and always says something mean about Jez...)

Leatherat are a great bunch of lads with it. They are from down in Banbury yet Pete their singer (who never takes his leather 'at off ), among others, thinks nothing of making the 200 mile trip to our local to support local musicians he has met, for example he was there only last Saturday when local girl Emma was playing her first ever gig with the group she now sings with. And the night inevitably ended in a jam. Brilliant stuff.

Do you sing/play folk yourself?

I think being a folk musician must be the perfect life in many ways.
If only I could sing........

Well Supergrass are on the first day, so if they're heading the bill and appearing last, it'll be a good occasion to split to the pub - which is what I reckon I'll do.

I see....so you're in THAT sort of mood

Thing is with Jez he's very prolific, right, and there are a good many songs that he should either have polished up, or else thrown out altogether. Instead of that, he records them all.
But when he's written something like 'Dover Delaware' for example, I forgive him all that. Besides I just like him, and I like Kate Bramley and Andy May too

If anyone ever hears of a Graeme Miles gig in the Durham/Teesside area, can you please let me know?
