If Danny Wilson goes (please, pretty please), who would you like to see as the next manager and why ?

I would like the club to bring in Gordon Watson, I know he's totally unproven and inexperienced as a manager but I just think his passion and enthusiasm might just carry him through the early stages of a career as a manager, I also think that he'd take no sh1t from the players and he would bond BIG style with the fans. I also think we'd see some entertaining, attractive football for a change.
By the way I've been saying this since he quit playing, it's not just a new thing, I say 'IN GORD WE TRUST', get him in , NOW.

Anyone got anyone else they'd fancy in the job, there's plenty want Danny boy out but not many suggestions as to who might replace him.

Fair enough, but why on earth people drag this 'passion and enthusiasm' cack all the time is beyond me.
Stuart Pearce shouted a lot , but basically struggled to manage to fit his arse on a toilet let alone manage a football team, the same goes for Donkey Adams, Brian Honour, Keith Houchen etc etc etc etc

I wouldn't touch Watson with a thousand foot pole, he believed he was beyond reproach and has passed this down to some of the players who are still here

As for my suggestion for a new manager, how about Nigel Clough?, he doesn't shout a lot though, so mayhaps he isn't the bloke for the job?

So I'm not allowed an opinion cos I'm not in the clique? Opinions were asked for and I'd have Shearer.

Well unless you conform to the common consensus on here you are shouted down. In my opinion Wilson is a good manager and is unfairly slated on here and if he went, I would have Shearer. That's is my opinion. It's not right or wrong, it's an opinion.

How the hell is he unfairly slated?

An abysmal away record, playing people out of position when there is clearly no need what so ever, sidelining better squad players for shite ones, his obsession with the 'LDB' which wasted TWO loan signings, signing TWO of the worst keepers I have seen in nearly twenty years of following pools

Yes you are right, the man hasn't been given a fair crack of the whip, has he??

Not forgetting the fact that almost every team below us has had a ten point deduction, he is a tip top manager, isn't he

If we don't go down this season, WE WILL next season with that chump at the helm, FACT!!!

I think Paul Simpson has done well in his short managerial career with Carlisle and Preston.

I wouldn't mind seeing him at the Vic and I think he'd take the job.

I'm not sure Watson is 'manager material' and don't think Shearer would want the Pools job in a month of Sundays.

Seems strange you would say you're not allowed an opinion though in this thread just because people disagreed with your comments.

Obviously Super Cooper would be my first choice if we could get him back.

Paul Simpson wouldn't be bad.

Isn't Watson part of the Poolie mafia.

I'd like someone who will bond like the fans though and Watson would do that.

Turner would be an ok choice as well.

Good manager my backside. Unfairly slated??? You are having a laugh. IMHO the bloke is one of the worst managers that the club have ever had. The resources are there yet he has still bolloxed it up.

Shearer would get us a lot of publicity but im not convinced it would be a good move. Having said that, any tom, dick or harry could inherit our current squad and get them winning games. It is just the current tw@t who cant manage it.

i suppose we were classed as a stepping stone for Mr Wilson well unless he already has a deal made some where he has blew it on our current form
but there will be some who say it is not the manager but the players yet he himself quoted "this team had twenty three clean sheets last season" but sadly it is not the same team is it Mr Wlson please go gack to the crooked spire

Nigel Clough for me if he'd come alternatively I'd plump for someone with the same disciplinarian mindset as Capello to get these gutless wonders to put a decent shift in.

Before Wilson arrived, I had hoped we'd lure Paul Ince. Doubt he'd be up for it but I'd still like to see it now.
