There seems to be a line of thought amongst some, that Wilson's a blameless by-stander and totally untainted by our present lethargy, a victim of a cruel conspiracy by a petulant team.
I don't buy this.
Even if it were so, would it not be raising the question ...why? Why would a team not perfom..? why would even newcomers not want to perform...? .....and the most logical question of all, what is the manager doing if this were so...?
Then there's the 'old guard' theory, a theory based on an old guard in the squad who are a monocle and a white cat away from world domination. In fact these ideas surfaced in Scottys' time and in view of the fact that this 'old guard' must now be extremely small in numbers, do they resort to hypnosis to be so powerful...?
I go for the not very good theory.
