This feckin computer is doing my head in with its constan blue screen errors.I think I may have discovered a problem with conflicting devices such as (i.e 2 things try to access the same bit of memory causes a crash)

Quote:
memory address 0xF0000000-0xF7FFFFFF PCI standard PCI to PCI bridge
memory address 0xF0000000-0xF7FFFFFF Ati Radeon Xpress 1250

I/O Port 0xF0000000-0xF7FFFFFF PCI Bus
I/O Port 0xF0000000-0xF7FFFFFF Direct Memory Access Controller

IRQ 16 Standard Open HCD USB Host Controller
IRQ 16 Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for high definition audio

Anyone know how I can alter this ?

If it's Windows XP, Right-Click on My Computer and select Properties, then on the Hardware Tab, then on the button for Device Manager. This should show you a list of what's in the PC, and you can go in and fiddle with settings. Anything with a yellow and black exclamation mark next to it is something that the system thinks is a problem.... In terms of changing bits you're on your own a bit though, there's that many options and different bits of hardware that it's difficult to work out what to do unless you're looking at it.

Anything new gone in the machine recently - Graphics card etc? That's usually a good place to start looking....

Take no notice of what he said though.

I am no expert but I would suggest the following:

The hotfix that is documented in
329909 IEEE 1394 Storage Device Detection Does Not Work When the System Resumes from Standby or Hibernation
is installed on your computer.

• You remove the IEEE 1394 storage device from your computer by using the Safely Remove Hardware feature (in the notification are of the taskbar, double-click the Safely Remove Hardware icon), and then put your computer into hibernation or on standby.

Note The IEEE 1394 storage device is removed in Windows XP but the device is still physically connected to your computer.

• Your application does a software disconnect of the IEEE 1394 storage device, and then you put your computer in hibernation or on standby, or the system goes on standby automatically.

I do hope that helps. Please feel free to contact me for further advice. :uhoh:

Interesting question.

Last time I was on mushrooms I had a proper out loud conversation with two other me's, one of which was telling me not to be so stupid as to talk to myself.

A bit more info...
Just befor a crash the internet seems to freeze up & the connection is lost, every now & then a crash wipes out all of my bookmarks too.
Ive been on broadband for around 7 years & am starting to think maybe this cable modem is on the way out & causing the crashes.Does that sound feasible ?
