Is the extra game not as a result of accumulating yellows though rather than a result of the appeal?

Collins has not even had a single yellow this season according to soccerbase.

Whether it's 3 or 4 if he doesn't win this appeal then both he and Nelson are missing for the game away at Cheltenham!

At least Nelson is missing an away game and we can't win them anyway.

It might even stop him from being silly and shouting at the supporters down at Cheltenham.

Would be even nicer if he showed his commitment by standing in with the away fans whilst suspended.

Mark simpson on pools world suggested that Collins might of been sent off twice as the ref showed the red card twice. If he was sent off for swearing and debating the decision then it could possibly explain the extra game?

No he showed Boland and Thompson a red card first as the lino had no idea who did and they needed to be told by the Swansea players.

So we had Swansea players butting in aswell?

No wonder the ref was pressured into it cos I saw about half a dozen Southend players sticking their oar in too.

Boland & Thompson were stood next to the Ref, but as he got out his card he pointed beyond them, presumably to wherever Collins was stood. Or at least that is the way I saw it on the Virgin version of lowlights of the match.

The Football Association reviewed the Club's appeal at 1pm today but classed it as "frivolous" and increased Collins' ban from three games to four games.

'Frivolous' = Unworthy of attention!!!! confised

The Club has no further comment at this time.

There's a surprise....And we will hear nothing of it again....ever!!!! confised banghead

I wonder if they look at it like this, that if everybody appealed against their booking, thinking they have nothing to lose by doing so, the system would be blocked up. Therefore by increasing the penalty for what they may consider wasting their time will penalise those who do and send out a warning that you should only appeal if you have a valid reason to do so. JUST A THEORY.

Nonsense. One of us should bring a private prosecution. I nominate you, Snowy

they've put a free view video of the incident on the official site - with replays and slow mo's, they're obviously not happy with the outcome this afternoon!!

i can't make my mind up. there's some argy bargy and he does raise his arm, but certainly not in the guys face. i think a red's harsh and doubt that the lino really saw it clearly...
