I can think of one or two that should have her face covered but this Jack Straw has something here.

No one should be forced (French decison re: schools was ridiculous) but the decision to talk about it was right and the points made by Straw were correct in my opinion - that it is difficult to talk to someone in that full shebang and that it may cause mistrust in some people

I don't pretend to understand the whole beekeeper outfit thing but surely common courtesy demands that you don't talk to someone with your face covered.

I always do that, my face is always covered. With tomato sauce, parmo cheese and John Smiths

Your face is covered with the Hartlepool flag - I guess the tomato sauce, parmo cheese and John Smiths is under that and I bet Jack Straw has never spoken to you.

The full face-hider is a load of bollocks and if I understand correctly has never been an explicit requirement of the Muslim faith, only some weirdo's interpretation of it.
The French Muslim girls on, the other hand are not even allowed to wear a bit of a headscarf at school because "no outward signs of creed are allowed". Its the Froggy ethos of separation of church and state taken to its absurd limits. You can wear a blue and red striped shirt with "Ronaldinho" on the back, which is about as clear a statement of creed as you can get, but you can't wear a headscarf folded in a certain way.

There's only a small proportion of them who want to wear the damned headscarf anyway. And it's usually their choice, not the parents'.

PS does anyone want anything from the fridge counter while Ali -al-Parmo goes shopping?
