According to the BBC:

Humphreys returns to Hartlepool
Midfielder Ritchie Humphreys has returned to Hartlepool following his month-long loan with Port Vale.

The 29-year-old impressed in his seven appearances for The Valiants but Pools boss Danny Wilson was keen for Humphreys to return to Victoria Park.

"We always had in our minds that the move would only be for a month," Wilson told the Hartlepool website.

"Ritchie needed games and he got that at Port Vale - now he comes back to us match fit and you can't ask for more."

Wilson added: "He's an important part of our squad and we want to see him challenging for his place back in the side."

Humphreys joined Pools in 2001 and set a record by starting 231 consecutive league games for the Club before his temporary move to Vale Park last month.

Hmmmm..........

Cue PP..... :sweet:

I TAKE ISSUE WITH YOUR INTERPRETATION OF THAT STATEMENT

IF THE INTENTION WAS FOR A MONTH TO GIVE HIM GAMES THEN WHY WAS IT THE DECISION WAS ONLY MADE TO BRING HIM BACK AFTER THE INJURIES ON FRIDAY

Yeah PP, cant say I actually agreed with that bit either.
Read the boards, heard the shouts at the matches, realised that Bracca isnt up to it (yet?), plus injuries happening and thought better bring him back then.
Unless he was simply putting down a marker, saying look I can get rid of you by not playing you, meaning you have to go out on loan, proving a point as such, hoping that it shows who the boss is.

history repeating its self
that was the reason that richies record run was stopped at the first opportunity
if it is personal that it will be bad for the club similar to the scott/ clark situation
