Our lass has just been fined for going the wrong way down a one way street somewhere near Johnson Street (near York Rd)- it was badly signposted she said and theyve just nicked a pile of people doing the same thing. The sign has only been up a few weeks so look out for it if youre down that way.

Apparently this is at the request of our beloved MP Ian Wright who has his offices near there and who has set up a camera to highlight the problem. Isn't it gratifying to know that he hasn't got anything more important to do with his time...

Accuse him of looking at your lasses mimi on his camera.

Get your lass to turn up in tears, and two of her mates who feel violated, check out the legality of the camera and donate the proceeds to Poolie Pride.

Job done. :sweeeet:

It is Johnson Street that is one way Johnny and it is badly signed but as it says on German traffic signs ignorance is no excuse might keep the council tax down all these fines.

He didn't get mine last time and he's done nowt since to even suggest there is the remotest chance of him getting it next time.

He's a "yes man" more interested in retaining his cushy job than he is interested in doing what is best for his elected constituency.

The trouble is, he's young enough to be MP for years...and years  ...worse thing is, everything he gets involved in fighting for....he ends up on the losing side of ...followed by a political shrug of the shoulders

Well Frank, your question kind of sums it up really and that is Politicians of all parties are out of touch with the people they are meant to serve. They are more interested in feathering their own nests and putting spin on policies that suit, in the main, the well off. One of the plus points of the media is that it has exposed politics and politicians for what they are in the most part - greedy, deceptive and underhand. It's no wonder we have such poor turn outs in elections.

I think it's been well and truly proved that a vote for the Denis Wise look alike is the biggest waste of space, time and effort of all time.... he should be sat in the back window of some pensioners car, cos he's just a political nodding dog.

I have always made a point of going to vote and always vote labour as broadly speaking I agree with a socialist, democratic way of running things. These days there seems to be little to choose between any of them in the way of actual policies - it has become (like the USA) more to do with celebrity and which leader has the most (perceived) charisma, the same as in other walks of life.

This government has improved public spending - the schools in Hartlepool have improved a lot since I was there in the 70s. But at a local level we have Brierton being closed and kids who live right next door to that school are now being relocated to the other side of the town at St Hilds - just so Hartlepool Council can bail themselves out of a financial pickle.

Like most people I'm totally disillusioned with politics and politicians and probably won't bother voting in the forseeable future.
