As every other formation seems to of been tried could this be the way forward.? The advantages of the formation is that you tend to get more possestion during the game. And the flexibility of the formation should allow players who make forward runs to do so with more freedom (just for you Sweeney lovers out there)

Just an idea

Thomas - Taity managed to get results (mainly draws mind) with a load of cloggers like Denny ingram, Richard Lucas and Glen Davies playing that formation. In later years Chris Turner used it very effectively in away games and even Neale Cooper used it at times. Neither of those had a record reading 1 point from a possible 24 away from home as far as i can recall.

The formation also allowed players such as Paul Stephenson and Tommy Miller to thrive, isn't the definition of insanity 'repeatedly doing something that isn't working'? or something like that? The fact that Pools are shipping goals, and have about 17 points from the last 16 games or thereabout sort of gives the impression that the tacticsa at the moment aren't working.....

Tait got results?
I remember us being relegation battlers in the basement under him, unless I was misled and we were actually title challengers in the championship.

I'm not sticking up for Wilson here, but Cooper oversaw a truly awful run of 8 consecutive away defeats which I will never forget. We broke the duck by scoring 5 at Wrexham, which of course I missed. banghead

How many bad games did Gary Liddle have at centre back last season?

We have not tried him once in that position this season while Clark has been ignored or injured and the Antwi/Nelson combo has been a horror show. Come to think about it he has also done well at left back in his earlier games for the club. Sweeney has been sickened off to the point of refusing a Jim Provett esq contract offer when he could have been used in midfield while Liddle played at the back.

Another talking point is that I doubt that Clark would have picked up niggling injuries had he played consistently from the start of the season- this season has been a total Wilson fook up when you look at a lot of factors including signings, team selection, and tactics. Pretty much his full job.

I don't like 5-3-2 we have the players to do better in a 4-4-2.

Sweeney's crapness might not be as obvious in this formation. he hardly touches the ball in some games. At least in 352 there is a man to cover every zone of the pitch when he disappears.

On his contract - he was allegedly claiming whilst in conversation to someone I know that Darlo and Donny are interested in him and are probably gonna double his salary.
