Joel Porter
A quality striker but not a lone target man to be played in a 4-5-1 or 4-3-2-1 formation. He feeds off a good partner alongside him and equally sets up plenty for others but he can't do that when he is isolated up front. Its not fair to him and its a waste of his talents asking him to play like that. If we are going to play with one up front then its Barker who should be that one as thats what his game is all about, not Joel.

Antony Sweeney
A very good attacking midfielder who hasn't played as a defender in any shape or form since he was in the youth team 6 years ago. A very strange decision to play him at right back, especially considering he took his chance with both hands last week scoring when he came on against Southend to score what turned out to be our winner.

Jamie McCunnie
From what we saw at the start of the season, a good right back with excellent distribution who was linking up well with Browny before Coles was brought in for those long diagonal balls. Sadly, it didn't suprise me to hear Robson say on Pools World that Wilson had basically picked Sweens at the back and McCunnie in the middle because Sweeney is taller.

Robson
Been performing well in the reserves and was a threat against Southend yet, not for the first time, he is dropped from the 16 completely after just one start.

Now I wasn't there tonight so I can only make those comments on how it looks from the outside but looking at the stats its quite scary.

those are just the facts we can see. We don't know what morale is like under Wilson. There are many more things that seem to be happening which is causing the current malaise, other than just selection mistakes. Although I gave him credit for trying to change it, the execution wasn't right again!!! Again!!!!
