I think we were away first too but not sure like.

Those were the days, playing top division sides in the cup each season.

Was it 5-0 away and got beat 2-1 at home? Think Dalton scored - Was only 8 at the time like memory was a bit hazy

Brian Cox saved a Gary Lineker penalty in the first leg. I also remember Paul Baker missing a golden chance to score at 2-0 I think it was. If only he had scored...

When we played them at home was Gazza on the bench? I seem to remeber loads of kids running up and down the touchline copying him as he was warming up.

I think that I was stood under the floodlight on the Millhouse/Rink End corner for that game

Didnt gazza get all 5 down there and we drew 2-2 at home? I remember it as i was in the Townend next to the away segregated area. Remember the Twattenham fans going on about cash taking the piss outta us poolies. stpid

He got four down in cockernee land, Lineker got the first, after what seemed about fifty seconds, but Baker did have a great chance to make it 2-1, but Thorstvedt was on him like a cheap suit and the chance was gone

Tupling did a great job of marking the fat alkie up here, but he I think he swapped over with Tinks MkI and he had a field day after that

Ahh, memories.... at random, here are some.

Big build up to the game on Cleveland, followed two minutes in by the news that we were already behind. Oh dear.

The game when they were handing the vouchers out, can't remember who it was. A teenage Vicki Pollard prototype behind me in the queue being handed this voucher and unable to get into her head that she wasn't going to see Gazza there and then.... doh!

The number of women in the crowd, due no doubt to Gazza and Gary Lineker's legs being on show.

Rochdale 2-2, were a 5,000+ crowd appeared from nowhere on a Tuesday night

Both games did my head in as we couldn't do our customary walk from the Town End to the Rink End at half time  I was at the wrong end for Dalts goal against Spurs
