I think the flyer you saw will have been for the main Croxdale club, Salty. This one's more cosy...no bar but bottles in a frig and an honesty box...that sort of thing.
Yes, I'll prob give the mandolin a try. Have been trying to learn fiddle for a couple of years, and apparently the two are connected, tuning-wise. Or something
