Southend flew up in the morning as they were not sure if the game was going to be called off due to the weather. The coach must be taking them back to the airport or hotel.

ironic that we have notched easily against good sides like Tranmere, Oldham, Southend, Orient etc, but some of our failings have been against Bournemouth, Cheltenham, Gillingham etc!!
When the players know they have a game on their hands they step up the standard, but must subconsciously drop it before playing what would be perceived as easier opponents. How to stop that, eh?

Don't let them see the fixture list and tell them they are playing a top team every week - if they get suspicious tell them they are bottom of the table and every team are above us & therefore 'better' than us. If this doesn't work offer them new contracts at lower wages and tell them they will be in the reserves. And finally if this doesn't work tell them that the ground has moved further away from their home & they'd better seek a transfer.

It's that simple.
