Can anyone please tell me when pools last had two poor goal keepers in their squad. I think their pressence in goal is having a knock on effect on the back four, they defo have no confidence with either keeper we would have been better keeping Provet.
Niether keeper is confident in claming crosses or organising the back four surerly they must be better Keepers out there either to sign or on loan. sctatchinghead

Kasper Schmeichel would indeed have been a good loan signing. With George Wood & Chris Turner both at the club I'd have thought that the goalkeeping position would have been sorted. I rate Dean Brill at Luton & Tim Krul would have been another good loan signing but he's remaining at Falkirk for the rest of the season.

So what does he do now (I've got sympathy with him on this one)

Budtz got a 20+ run of games, before he dropped him.
I saw ALB last week and despite a shaky first half, which I put down to nerves,
he seemed to have a steady second half, making a couple of crucial saves.
One thing that did strike me, was his size. He is a chunky lad (unless he had Budtz's shorts on).
He did seem to try to communicate with the back four, which I always like in a keeper.
From reports he seems to have had a mare on Friday. Was it him or was it the back four ?

Budtz, on the two occassions I've seem him, does not inspire confidence.
He doesn't talk, doesn't catch, doesn't seem to inspire any confidence in the back four.
He does, however, seem to have an uncanny knack of getting his body in the way of the ball.

So who does DW pick for Tuesday, which might be the game that his future hinges on ?

No doubt I'll get slagged for this one aswel, but in ALB defence, the wind was bad on Tuesday, and every high ball into the wind into our box in the first half looked like being a goal, ALB didn't know if he was sticking or twisting, and every ball along the deck through the middle left him totally exposed, that said though I think for Tuesday he'll go back to the devil he knows and will play Budtz :uhoh: and if we don't win, I think DW will be gone bbolt

ALB did have a mare but in all fairness the defense was far worse. He didn't have much protection.

If ALB ends up beign iffy then we are in trouble. Wilson should buy a new keeper.

Neither Chris Turner or George Wood are responsible for signing players thats all down to Danny boy. Do you seriously think Chris Turner as a former top flight keeper will be impressed with either of the two goons we've signed?

Didn't Chris Turner sign Anthony Williams?

And when the signing of Lee Barrett was questioned at the start of the season a lot of people used the fact that Wood recommended him as justification. Pools have fooked up big style allowing Prov to leave......

He did but Williams didn't really become hopeless until the second half of the promotion season he was a better keeper than either of these two.

As i've said I don't think Jim was the answer but he's 200% better than the keepers we've replaced him and Dimi with, if we were prepared to allow him to move on we had to make sure what we signed was better.

I agree Jonny

We've fooked up, actually Wilson has fooked up to put it more bluntly.

away guys you have got to take the rose tinted glasses off here
jim provett was a reasonable keeper nothing better and certainly not the next gordon banks like some of you seem to think.
he is at his level in the bottom division he is too small to become an outstanding keeper and being burys player of the year is hardly the earth shattering acheivement it is being made out to be is it

But Jim's crede3ntials are far better than Mr Lee Barretts. The Weymouth fans didn't even think ALB was any good and it looks like they were right.

i actually rate Jan Budtz, he is no Dimi but what do we expect for nowt...?
