It was probably the worst pools performance in years! Wilson is a complete idiot. Barker is chronic, the poorest excuse for a footballer that I have ever seen. Nobody played well tonight.

We will be in a relegation battle this season unfortunately

i find it really sad that players like Richie Barker are getting grief from fans. The guy always tries his best and he takes the knocks. it is obvious that Richie is not good enough or agile enough to play 2 or 3 times a week at this level. But Wilson is running him into the ground, if Barker was used more sparingly he would be far more effective......

i thought he was poor as well. The majority of players were clowns tonight and Mr Lee Barrett didn't fill me with any confidence at all.....

I concur. Cheltenham were the first side I've seen this season come at us at home playing quick, snappy football that we seemed to have no answer to. A lot of the time, especially first half, they seemed to waltz past our players as if they weren't there. They were up for it and we weren't. I can't take one plus from that first half - it could easily have been 5 or 6 nil (Brown had our only real chance which actually was a good one). Second half saw a slight improvement (which wasn't hard) and a few good chances but when they scored, after another smart team move, we just didn't want to know.

On the player front, Elliott continues to frustrate me. As I told Chip tonight, I categorise full backs into two sections; the attacking full back who offers something extra and is a decent defender and the defensive minded full back who doesn't press on but as sure as hell won't let anything past him. Elliott is neither. Brown didn't want to know, Lee-Barrett was all over the place and some of our more experienced players just aren't cutting it anymore. Radical changes needed in my opinion.

Matty Robson and Porter when they came managed do something contructive. Robson made a cross and Porter almost scored with his first touch.

Humphreys tried to take over and drive the squad like he did when we went down but he can't play everything position.

You make it sound as though this is a one off performance
and we were slightly unlucky. Our new standard is tedious, disjointed, stop start, misfiring , going through the motions football amd none of the above reasons are at all relevant.

The old man said it was our worst performance since we were thumped at home by either Blackpool or Shrewsbury he couldn't decide which, is this a fair assessment?

I saved my brother £18 quid by giving him my ticket for last night so i suppose that was a good thing for him
