Agree with Fensy its the only one that looks like the great man.

On a related subject I was at Liverpool John Lennon Airport yesterday and they have a statue of the bespectacled one there that I found brilliant. Now looking at the picture below and others I've seen on the web you'd get the impression it was nowt like him but I can assure you that in 3 dimensions, seen through your own two eyes, it's the absolute pip both in looks and posture.

Moral: never rely too much on photos. The statues of Cloughie are perhaps better than you think.

P.S. I have to admit however that the real john lennon was probably not 8 foot tall.

He might have begun his managerial career here but quite honestly he has far more credentials and history elsewhere, both as a player and a manager. I'm proud we were on his pathway through footballing glory and he's arguably the greatest ever product of the Pools academy, but I reckon as far as Pools are concerned there are other deep-down Poolies for whom a statue would be more relevant.
Putting a statue of the great man at the Vic would be a bit of a bandwagon jump. Borer and Forest are without doubt the most appropriate places.

He wasn't here long enough and I agree with everything that Mr.Head has said!!!! confised

To tell you the truth....I don't think that we've had anyone at the club here long enough or actually done enough to warrant a Statue!!!! confised confised
Fair enough naming Stands/Bars after people etc but not a statue!!!! confised
If that was the case....every club in the country would have a Maze of Statues around the ground!!!! confised

You're probably right Mutley. My Dad would probably have nominated Watty Moore, or Fred Westgarth. Fred was manager for 14 years, in charge for arguably our best ever season (get that one going again), and died shortly after our most famous match against the really talented Manchester United of the 50's. Although the stats on ITMC don't necessarily back up that he was more than an average manager. bbolt
