well and truly been ruined this year by the likes of Sunderland, Reading, Wigan, Bolton and Everton all playing weakened teams.

Another nail in the coffin for the competition, these clubs should be ashamed.

The MOTD summariser for the Blackburn v Coventry game couldn't have been more patrionising if he'd tried, he manage to miss out the word plucky somehow, but he did round off an awful 5 minutes of commentary by saying what a wonderful day out the Coventry fans were having.

Also, we had Chasetown - the lowest-ranked side ever to make it to the 3rd Round of the cup, and weren't given a TV game. Why? Because the TV companies no longer have to patronise the rest as the Prem teams are now involved (predictably the precious G14 trinity are all covered - AGAIN!). Havent & Waterlooville had got through three rounds without conceding a goal, winning away at York and Notts County. Again, no TV game. Reason? "Um, well, Swansea City had already been shown live in both rounds" So what? Would that fact stop you from showing Arsenal? Or ManU? And it wasn't about Swansea, it was about H&W. Thankfully they earned a replay, which surely MUST be televised.

The Beeb do have an excuse as they had already picked their games before the result of the replay was known and Port Vale v Cardiff is not that attractive a fixture. It's debatable whether thay would have shown it anyway though.

As for H&W, I bet they're kicking themselves now.

I agree with Mad John, it had to be Chasetown on the tele; surely they could have waited for the replay to decide.

I agree with ptbap too; did the commentator not know that Coventry have one of the longest records in the top divison and have only been out of it a handful of years.

Also, can we add Blackburn to the list of weak XI's put out this weekend? They've been flying this season and Coventry have been indifferent so it was some shock.

The FA Cup is another excuse for the BBC to patronise smaller teams and arselick the big ones. Sky are guilty of it as well.

I would be over the moon to see a 'lesser' team win it, like West Ham almost did not long ago, or heaven forbid a team from outside the Premiershit.

I think we can, a quick look at their side and there was no Santa Cruz or Gamst Pedersen.

They must have been injured.

I'll stop talking to myself now....!

as long as the punters patronise these tv companies they will stay in cahoots with the prem and they will continue to coin it in at the expense of the lesser clubs

I love the darts me like.

Thinking of getting tickets for the World Matchplay in Blackpool in the summer.

I might take up watching the pie-scoffing championships.
In fact, I might even take part, I need to get back into shape anyway.
