Leeds United are in talks over a partnership with a top Argentinian club which could see a host of promising players make their way to Elland Road.

Argentinian Premier League side San Lorenzo are poised to link up with the League One club.

According to the Yorkshire Post, discussions are at such an advanced stage that Argentine international Jonathan Bottinelli is due to fly in to train with Leeds next week.

He is likely to be joined by Under-20 international defender Nicolas Bianchi and both will be assessed by Leeds boss Dennis Wise.

If the pair impress sufficiently, United will look to sign the duo subject to work permits.

Defender Bottinelli, aged 23, made his full international debut in Argentina's goalless draw with Chile last April. Centre-back Bianchi will turn 21 later this month.

San Lorenzo themselves have a fine pedigree in Argentina, qualifying for the 2008 Copa Libertadores - the South American equivalent of the Champions League. Their season does not kick off again until 10th February.

Remember when Gus Di Lella bagged a brace in a comeback against Cambridge (3-3 I think) and his 'celebration' was to kick ten bags of shite out of the Town End advertising boards? the crazy foreign bastard.

I was stood behind him in the queue at the Main Post Office about ten years ago, and I spotted his dodgy handwriting on a huge envelope he was sending to Republica Argentina - it looked like a four year old had written on it!!!! Made me chuckle at the time
