Celtic V Inter Milan 1967
It looked like they were kicking the fooking moon around the pitch and by christ could they kick it!

And the Keeper didnt wear padded jumpers or gloves

and there was hardly any diving from the Celtic, no cards on the bit I watched even tho it was a bit full blooded

Eyeties did dive a bit tho, but the ref fooked him off and kept the game going, watching the keeper bounce the ball every few steps looked comical tho!

Yet todays players play with a ping pong ball and the keepers wear Kenny Everrett size gloves while players leap around like salmons and time wasting is gamesmanship

Tis indeed a different world now, but you can't step in the same river twice as they say. It ws however, compelling viewing as i am sure reading similar based literature would have my head shaking at the difference in 'standards'

his dad was an f.a. cup winner and an international in the 50's and earned the same as his mates who worked in the factories, 14 quid a week, which at the time was the maximum wage.

its like reading about a different game.
The History of Celtic f.c. is a good read Chip.

I used to get on the no 6 bus from King Oswy on match day about 2pm, at the same time as Andy and Dave Linighan got on the bus when they were playing for Pools. They got on the stop before King Oswy shops.
