here's a theory - they could have maybe managed to get to the end of their mortal coils unheard of by the world, but now everybody in almost every country knows who they are/is talking about them!!!!! History will now remember them!!
Maybe they decided it would be a better idea to have left their mark on the world, after all if you can't be famous, be infamous/notorious/celebrities instead!!!!
Not to mention the potential to make a few quid out of all this when they do get out of the nick (if that's what happens to them), and I reckon their sons won't do too bad either when the press/tv/radio come knocking for interviews!! Plus the sons will gain a bit of fame/celebrity status for themselves!!!

I reckon this will top the monkey legend in years to come. Plenty of folk in Britain haven't heard of the monkey story, but everyone will know about these two for decades.

I think it's great that the media spotlight is on the town for something which isn't horrendous like a murder or poverty or teenage pregnancy.

It does annoy the feck out of me that all the reports refer to 'Seaton Carew, near Hartlepool, Teeside'. Lazy bloody journalists. banghead
