What a FOOOKING RIP OFF !!!!! rage rage rage

it drives (no pun intended!) me round the twist.

Just got my renewal from Zurich and its increaesed for the 2nd year in a row, even though i've no claims or convictions etc. etc.

When i rang them to find out why i was told that beacause of this years floods there has been a steep increase in insurance claims, car and home, resulting in higher premiums for everyone!!, FOOOOOKING SHOCKING !!

oh yeah and while im on, another thing that p.isses me off is that apparently im high risk because i only have 2 years no claims discount, but the fun twist to this part of it is that i've been driving without having a claim since i was 17 year old!!

Well how come you only have 2 years no claims then ??.... i'm glad you asked

Passed me test at 17, bought a car, drove for 4 years without a claim. Then at the age of 21 i sold me car because i got a company vehicle which i drove for 10 years again without a claim. Then 2 year ago i changed jobs meaning i had to buy a car, but beacuse the previous 10 year i'd been driving a company vehicle it didnt count towards no claims discount, and now at the age of 32 the period between the ages of 17-21 dont count either beacuse they are too far in the past.

So here i am having driven for 15 year without a scratch, scrape or shunt, maybe 250,000 miles in total and only 2 years no claims discount banghead banghead banghead banghead

rant over

Try SwiftCover.com, I moved to them recently they were a fair bit cheaper than the rest of them mainly because they are an internet based company. There are no expensive call centres and you print out your own certificate which saves money on postage.

Zurich gave me the worst quote of all the companies I got a quote from. Im sure you could do better. Try Admiral's website, you get an online quote in about 10 mins. They are quite cheap. (relatively speaking)

They are excellent too. Them and Admiral are one and the same. There is usually only about £10 difference between the two of them

It's a racket innit??

The law says that you have to have it but then no-one polices it.

I know I'm not allowed to say 'over here,' but over here there's two levels of insurance, two wheels and four wheels. Two wheels 3 pound a year, four wheels 12 pound a year.

EVEN BETTER!!! If you have a crunch, a copper comes along and tells who how much to pay who and that's an end to it. None of this inspection and estimate bollocks.

Now that's being a copper  not hiding behind a tree with a speed gun.

IT's about time you had to display an insurance disc alongside your tax disc.

Try W A Smith Insurance on York Road.

Its a local broker, so you'll have someone to see if you've got any problems and they can quite often beat internet quotes too.

Some insurance companies accept company car driving as long as you can get a letter of confirmation from you previous employers. I know for sure that Swinton insurance accept it as NCB

You want to have a look at First Direct an offshoot of the HSBC bank on their website they'll beat your renewal by £30, you just have to send yer renewal into them to prove the amount.

Been with em for years no hassle no crap and if you do have a problem it's sorted quick.
