He's won his appeal this morning. Don't know if they're releasing him (they obviously should) but the news mentioned a retrial.

Haven't the police said that they won't be re-opening the investigation. Which seems to imply they think they got the right man?

They also said they wouldn't reopen the Stefan Kizsco case. The poor bloke did nearly 20 years for a child murder he never commited. Bad enough being wrongly convicted but as a child rapist and killer he wouldn't have had a great time inside. He never got over it and died recently as did that woman who was accused of killing her kids.

I don't know whether George did it or he didn't but if he is aquitted at the retrial then surely any copper who says we're not going to reinvestigate needs disciplining. The police are there to catch criminals and if someone is proven innocent they have to then find the real killer.

The old bill didn't even give him access to a solicitor when he was arrested...
