hope I am wrong, but I can see many regulars staying away, staying in the pub etc etc......especially if its wet and cold like last night.

If it wasnt for my youngun, the littlest one, being a season ticket holder, I know I would be watching it at home. :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh:

And I feel certain, Mister Ed would join me. And in the current climate Part P too.

So........I will be there, but what about the rest of you?

As a non season ticket holder and an exile (albeit only a short drive away), I will be there, I always will whenever I can

I haven't withdrawn my support in almost twenty years after a stop start season, but if it makes others feel better, so be it

Ditto.

I can't remember ever feeling as despondent about Pools as I do now.

There's no entertainment in going to the match right now.

No good football to watch.

Whilst that would be ok (but not ideal) if you were scraping 1-0 wins it is soul destroying to go and watch them kick it up in the air to a bloke who tries hard but is out of his depth and then watch it come back at our woeful centre half (Nelson) and dodgy keeper knowing it is a matter of time until we concede.

If it was May now there would be no way I would get a season ticket for next season even if we were sat in our current league position and safe from relegation- an aim which I fear is unachievable given current form.

for the atmosphere there's no substitute for being there although £20 is a lot when you can see the game on Sky.

I wonder how much Pools will get from Sky for televising the game.

I'm not going and it's costing me £30 into the bargain for the non-refundable train ticket from London I booked for when the game was scheduled for Saturday. rage

So you didnt feel as dispondent after getting beaten six nil at home of a dire Donkey Rovers in 1989, or getting hammered of a Plymouth team on the last match of the season in 1994?

Or getting beat at home of Brighton team that had failed to win away until their visit in late 1996

I could go on and I know we shouldn't look back, as it could make me a 'rose tinted' type of person, but I can't believe you feel that way and never felt as low as a Pools fan!

To be honest, no I didn't.

Back then I was young and had no expectations of anything better.

We went to the match for a laugh, usually fully tanked up from 11 in the morning just to ensure that we could enjoy watching the dross on offer.

Now I have a couple of pints beforehand fair enough but not a skin full and I want to go and watch good football at the thick end of 20 quid a pop.

And since those dark days I've seen us improve year on year apart from the Scott debacle.

Now I feel like we're back in the same boat as we were two years ago with the same conclusion likely.

I will be there as a season ticket holder. Even if i wasn't i still would.
I was there last night totally wet through & freezing cold and did not enjoy it one bit, But as a die hard fan come sunday i will be itching to be there hopeing that we can start playing football again and stop these long balls from back to front.
As proved already this season the small amounts of a time in a game when we actually get the ball on the floor and pass we can play any team in this division off the pitch.

Cos he makes some good looking saves but doesn't command his area like he should and doesn't communicate well with his defence which leads to the back five as a whole not performing properly.

But if you wanna just judge one aspect of his game and not the whole that is your misguided prerogative I suppose.

PS. Widely accepted by whom? You? And a couple of others? stpid

Budtz has been superb the last few games, other than his kicking he has done everything well and has developed since the played we had back in August. It's probably the only department I'm not concerned with at the moment.

thanks for your reasoned reply banghead banghead banghead .

its widely accepted by the pools lounge regulars who have consistently voted for him after the last few home games.

it seems to be the minority of people who class him as 'dodgy' stpid stpid stpid

so it's budtz' fault that nelson has lost the ability to defend ???? thanks for clearing that up for me

so his saves are just 'good-looking', but somehow not actually 'good' stpid stpid stpid banghead

how am i just judging him on one aspect of his game ??? 'misguided perogative' ??

you're ginger, aren't you  ? i can always tell  there's a lot of anger just below the surface rage rage

I've previously said that it is partly down to Budtz that Nelson doesn't look so good anymore due to the lack of confidence he instils in his defence. But you decided that shouldn't be included in judging every aspect of his game.

Pray tell what else you think I've failed to answer.

PS. What are you on about regards abuse? sctatchinghead

i can't work the feckin quote thing ok ????? banghead banghead banghead banghead

i asked you a perfectly legitimate question as to why you felt budtz was dodgy ? you belittled my opinion. if i want that sort of patronising high-handedness, i can post on rivals and poke superwatty with a stick :uhoh:

your mate tax paying poolie accused me of having a go first, which wasn't the case.

From where I was sitting you said that to say Budtz was dodgy is stupid and then made a sweeping statement about how everybody had him down for MOTM for the last few games.

I simply disagreed, not belittling your opinion but mystified how you felt able to decide that everybody thought he was the dogs bollox and man of the match week after week.

right, let's clear this up like adults.

i didn't claim that everyone had budtz as MOM. i stated the fact that contrary to Mr Ripper's claim that it just me who rated him, there were at least 30 people in the Pools Lounge who voted for him as man of the match for the last four home games. that's not everyone, but i'm not privy to everyone's opinion. i was privy to the last four weeks' MOM vote as i was there at the time.

i asked how mr ripper justified calling him dodgy, and was told that i wasn't in a position to judge how good he was, as i was only looking at one aspect of his game.

just struggling to understand why i didn't get a straight answer. perhaps it was my use of the little smiley things ? i can't use them on rivals so tend to go mad when i come on here

What's that?

A Sunday dinner in the pub at 1pm and then home to make another to put on the table for half five?

im not going on sunday because im skint, i can watch it live in the house, and i dont see why i should be arsed if the players cant.

i dont mind us getting beat, ive had 30 years of that. what i cant stand is players going through the motions. the home performances this season have been almost universally boring, and i dont see why i should subsidise the manager pissing about with the team and the formation.

anyone repeatedly coughing up to watch the crap we have been served up lately gets my sympathy.

I think we get the point about you not going this Sunday but have been to every other game since time began. banghead

Like others have said - I will be there but don't have a great deal of enthusiasm for it

Well put Mr Ripper, the only thing I will add to that is back in those days we got beat because we were crap, lately we appear to be getting beat because we cant be bothered to do whats necessary to win.

As for Pools - I'll be there but don't expect to leave the ground feeling as though I have been entertained, or got value for money

To be fair Mr Bus it's not "a couple of poor performances" is it? It is over 2 months of poor performances (at home anyway) I will be there, I will be supporting, but it doesn't mean I have to be happy about the way we are playing

If it had been on Saturday I still couldn't have gone cos I aint got the moolah. at least I'll be able to see what I'm whining about!
