watching England v Swiss on that ESPN thing, Brooking referred to their keepers save as 'one for the cameras' and "he'll be asking for a few copies of that save after"...WTF?!

outfield players showboat, hog the limelight etc
why shouldn't keepers get a bit of glory for what was an excellant save?!

The French for gherkins is cornichons.

cor = horn (as in French horn)
nichons = tits

That's I once replied to the secretary where I worked when she asked me what cornichons were in English. And she believed me.

Apparently a couple of weeks later when she was at a buffet attended by some of our English bigwigs she went round offering everyone horntits, bless her. I wish I'd been there.
