I hate fireworks me, I was walking home less than an hour ago and they were coming from all angles. They were going off from the edge of peoples gardens inches away from where people were walking past.

It's not even bonfire day.

Last year I saw some lads throwing them at a church.

They're a hazard when not used by proffesionals.

I just can't understand why people spend loads of money on them when it isn't even Bommy Night!!!!

I had a look out of the Attic window about 15 minutes ago....they are going off allover Hartlepool!!!!

They should only be used at organised displays and anyone found with them beforehand should recieve a hefty fine!!!!

Indeed, organised displays by trained and qualified personnel only. Besides, garden fireworks are shite.

By their very nature pyrotechnics are very dangerous. (I have no live rounds, empty cases or pyrotechnics in my possession Sir! sure I've heard that somewhere).

The bloke next door started his display at half nine...I think he's using f****** depth charges, even the windows are vibrating.

Saw a couple of kids REALLY badly burned at a bonfire party when I was about 10 - watching human torches running around a garden (& I am NOT exaggerating here - that's EXACTLY what it was like, one of them only 4 years old) kind of puts you off bonfire night - I fucking hate it!!!!!! I take the kids to Seaton every year, but wild horses couldn't drag me near a bonfire, even 35 years later

Trouble is if you ban fireworks people will still get hold of them on the black market.

Possibly, but on nowhere near the scale of today, some of the foreworks on sale now are over the top. Also we ban guns, we aren't put off because people may buy them on the black market.

I went into a certain shop over the weekend to get some stuff for work and was amazed at some of the gear on sale...FIREWORKS?.... it looked like an arsenal, it's scary stuff.

They should be banned for all but licensed displays.

Fortunately we didn't have kids setting them off round our end, but there was loads of knobs having their own little "private displays" in their back gardens.

If just one rocket at each garden show could go off sideways and hit the bloke who bought them square in the mush from about 10 yards...

On local news last night there was a woman in Leicester who had a conservatory window put through by a canister off one of those big fook-off ones.

You sometimes find the ones that look like a lolly-stick with a sherbert fountain on in the garden, but this looked like an artillery shell case.

Obviously most of them are manufactured here and we get some dead smart fireworks here, like artillery standard for about two quid. One almost took my head off last February but I shouldn't have been stood there.
