Jarrow v Pools 11 Durham Challenge Cup

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

Jarrow v Pools 11 Durham Challenge Cup

Postby Flying Hogans » Tue Sep 09, 2025 11:48 am

Nicky Feathersone is taking a 'mixed' Pools side to Jarrow FC for the preliminary round of the Durham Challenge Cup this 'midweek', at 7p.m. according to the OS. The club's X site specifies Wednesday - but the old timers who rely on the OS are clever enough to work that out for themselves - at any rate they better be!

Will it be the last chance to see Campbell and one or two other others in a Pools shirt?

Darlo are at Billingham Town tonight - that must be an 'early week' fixture

Assuming they both progress, the first Pools v Loids derby in yonks could be a thing this season.

Should Nicky play some of out-of-form strikers? Try to get their confidence up by notching a few against Jarrow.

Asking for a friend who is tired of some of the other threads on this Board today.

Mr Streak, I am disappointed: you've put the wrong colour ribbons on our cup....

Anyone know what the final score was? And does anyone know if Campbell has buggered off on holiday or something?

2-2, lost on penalties, another cup competition we consistently fail in.

Thanks. On the bright side we still don't need a trophy cabinet - so that'll keep costs down.

Fear not, my trusted sauce tells me that the Comcast Cup (THE most coveted cup in Northern Europe) is kept in a bank vault. Not going to leave that on display in case a rogue loid attempts to steal it back!

Jarrow scored 2 in the first 5 minutes. Joe Aungiers pulled one back before the end of the half and Folarin equalised in the 93rd minute. Haven't found the Pools team but it was mainly Academy lads.
Found this comment on Facebook: "Coming from a Jarrow FC fan, was a great game and you lads done very well and were very impressive! Give the lads some credit!"

I'm wondering if grayson is just waiting to get reinforcements in before he offloads Campbell.
I'd heard rumours that he was off to gateshead in February but the deal fell through, he hasn't looked interested in quite a while tbh.
I'm hoping his lack of involvement recently means that another team (gateshead) is lined up for him.

Would make sense to loose Campbell as would think doming from a league one club at the time he will probably be one of the higher earners.

just one more game to go but more likely we,ll play the team who knocks them out. as long as its not brackley again as anyone turning up to watch them again must have a mental problem and need help.
