FGR Post Match

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

FGR Post Match

Again cant fault the effort and for first 20 mins we were the better side w but once they scored we never looked like getting back into it.
Keeper and defenders again very good....apart from his distribution Cartwright looks like pretty much the most complete keeper you could hope to have at this level.

In truth they should have won by more, and were the best side i've seen so far--better than Southend, matched us physically, pressed us well and the big difference had creativity up front.

No shame losing to them, but the state of our bench is borderline negligent-again a center back 3 defensive mids none of whom can press is writing off the last 20mins of each game we arent already ahead in.

Its not realistic to expect us to finish higher than FGR, Carlisle, York and Rochdale (who took our best player) given their stabilty and budget, but if we want a crack at the playoffs we need reinforcements NOW....no be patient, no lets see where we are in October etc.. we either get players in or keep dropping points to the likes of Boston.

Need at least 10 points from the next 4 in September.

Over to you Radgy.

Or the non takeovers will pop up for sure.

Can’t disagree what you said Loyal. Need reinforcements in the next few weeks or it’s goodbye to the playoffs . Squad is just too paper thin

Everyone knows that the squad is lacking two or three players and if Raj doesn't give the manager the funds, it shows he just doesn' t care!

We can’t afford reinforcements unless we can move Campbell , hunter and folorin on. Who will want them?

He’s given the fringe players their chances. Charman has stepped up and looks a threat. Hunter, Folarin and Campbell have come on and done nothing. Grayson has obviously seen that and is reluctant to include them again.

Featherstone is fully focussed on his coaching now (which I think is the right thing to do), I think he’ll get his 10 appearances that he needs to overtake Watty Moore, but only in the last 10 mins or so of games, he’s obviously not keeping up his full playing fitness, but to be fair he looks the same weight that he did under Hartley when the entire squad was overweight.

Campbell wasn’t on the bench today, which should tell him all that he needs to know. Work out a deal with Gateshead where they will pay even 50% of his wages to take him on loan for the rest of the season, and we can replace him with someone competent.

We’ve got Brackley and then Aldershot over the next 2 weeks, who are both currently looking as bad as each other on DAZN. 6 points is there for the taking, but need to start making moves to ship out the rest of the dead wood and bring in players that the manager feels that he can trust.

I agree with your assumption completely but as it is generally bandied about the club has been boycotted by an alleged one thousand fans, are they in the don't care category as well. Now both you and me and most other people know that those fans do care but if Raj has to be judged by his level of backing then so does everyone else.
Purely and simply in the interest of fair play and balance.
I would like Raj to fund the recruits we obviously need and, who knows, he may well just do that but we all have to sing from the same song sheet and, at the moment, boycotting the terraces etc., isn't going to to encourage more recruits with less money.
I expect flak for saying this but what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
One side appears to be saying "not putting another penny into the club until Raj is gone" and that is tempting a similar response.
I don't blame people for taking that stance, it is their choice and their money and they are entitled to spend it how they wish but the same applies to Raj.

If they dont sign a striker another 500 will dissappear off the crowds come winter. So its either be up near the top and getting 3500 to 4000 or slumming it mid table or below on less than 3k. Pointless being chairman if you have no ambition.

To be fair Grayson has said he's expecting to bring more in, so if that's true he hasn't used all his budget yet and it's purely down to Joe Monks and the manager to get some players in.

I'm quite liking the interviews on the red, the interviewer asks questions the supporters are wanting. I was wondering as well if he was considering recalling Josh Donaldson from what he said, or I might just be reading too much into it.

I think you might be Bobby. Grayson's answer about Campbell was pretty much writing on the wall stuff though. He didn't waste any breath saying he was unlucky to miss out and instead talked about new players coming in!

I'll be very surprised if Campbell isn't at Gateshead or South Shields by the end of next week.

I’ve just watched this post match interview from Grayson and pretty much summed it up as we do. As much as try to be optimistic and Grayson has done wonders so far we need reinforcements sooner than later. The small squad is now playing with injuries and the attacking players are not quite on it. Reid is ok, Charman playing better but his passing and shooting ratio need to improve. Johnson just needs more energy . To me seems to be going through the motions. We are playing well but if we can’t score goals we will start dropping like a stone. Nothing on the bench too so probably need at least 4 to 6 players . Just hope Raj gets his cheque book out . Can’t fault the first 8 though. Superb performance from them

The last 4 games have produced only 2 goals despite creating a shit load of chances.
A wicked deflection and a worldystrike.

Major evidence that now everybody can see.

It's a basic fix next week or a mega drop off in crowds.
One or Two will disagree though.
No bother that like.

They might need after their result…maybe it’s the sea air at Hartlepool that’s made him a dud.

He's done very well for himself but Pools get no benefit from this transfer whatsoever.

He ain't stupid.
A league One contract with extortion housing costs.

Or

A 2 yearer at Pools with a lot cheaper housing costs.

Then his dream move back to Gateshead.

He's done us over big style but we'll done you mastered it to perfection.

without a new signing that excites fans the gate for the mighty brackley will be lower than our last saturday home game was because of lack of goals and a defeat yesterday. its not all about loyalty its more about giving many a reason to come to the match or not.
