Where is super Nige now, he is in the States for what ? Rayner put her property into trust to avoid Inheritance Tax, not illegal,Reform are going to abolish it, it brought £7 billion in revenue last year, how are Reform going to fill that black hole, who is that going to benefit, not the working class as not many have an estate worth more than £325000.
Super Kev you need to read up on Reforms agenda before spouting off about super Nige, his side kick Richard Tice made an impassioned plea in 2022 for Britain to end restrictions on climate-wrecking shale gas, he hit out at ministers raising taxes while they “send money overseas”. but it was revealed that Tice had previously sent his own money out of the UK, transferring shares worth millions into an offshore family trust
Rayner might be guilty and I won’t defend her but compared to Tice it was small fry compared to the millions Tice salted away to avoid tax.
PTID wrote:Whatever Tice did is as legal as what Rayners did. The difference is that Rayner didn't just use the Trust thing to avoid tax, she evaded tax by way of Stamp Duty which she denied but now acknowledges as being correct but obviously not her fault.
Another huge difference is that Rice is not a Government Minister/ Deputy PM. I'd say what Rayner has done is far worse, but probably the fault of 14 years of Tory rule, or future years of Reform rule, it certainly won't be her fault as nothing seems to stick with brass-necked shower.
PTID wrote:Why change our attention to a minority opposition party leader though Jamie?
Never mind Reform and the fact that they may one day form a government, our attention should be on the government of the day.
14 years of Tory corruption and sleaze is rapidly being caught up by Labour in what 14 months?
Jamie1952 wrote:Now she has resigned we can turn our attention to Farage, why he is in The Stares sporting a GB News lapel badge and not a Union Jack one. The MSM have turned a blind eye to his visit

How many of her peer group came out in support of poor Ang who made an easy mistake? She knew she's bent, they knew she's bent, and we all (mostly) knew she's bent. I hope the tax man comes down in her for tax evasion now, as they would for the likes of us.
Ignorance is no excuse, and if she had any integrity whatsoever she would've resigned immediately, or Starmer should have suspended her immediately as a minimum but probably sacked her if she refused to resign. The question now is should she stand down as an MP?

Labour are in government and in just over a year Starmers freebies have come to light, a cabinet minister resigned because she was a convicted fraudster, the minister for homelessness evicting tenants so she could put rents up - resigned, an MP convicted of assault on a constituent - resigned, Rayner evading tax, etc etc
This is the government of the day, not a bunch of wanabees.
Every fecking thread you contribute to becomes an attack on Farage / Reform, Trump, Truss, 14 years of Tory government. The mess that we're in is Labours to own.

Yeah I remember when he said he owned a property in Clacton, just a little white perfectly legal lie, he’s good at them.

Legal…..you say….end of argument.
PTID wrote:It'll depend on if the taxman decides to make an example and go after her to determine legality.
Big issue with gobby Rayner was when in opposition she constantly shouted for every Tory miscreant to be sacked when they did anything suspect yet expected to lie and bluff her way to keep her job when the boot was on the other foot.
Minister for Housing - doesn't pay correct taxes in association with house-buying.
Minister for the homeless - made people homeless to increase her income from rental property.
Minister for Corruption - corrupt.
Minister for Transport - convicted insurance fraudster.
Doesn't read well at all does it?

Splod wrote:There is no way there will be a general election in 2027 as Farage said yesterday. A party that has a stonking majority but is so far behind in the polls is going to hope that something/anything happens to turn around their position. I'm afraid that we've got this lot until 2029.
