This team is going nowhere

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

This team is going nowhere

Without 2 or 3 quality attacking players coming in

We aren’t good enough to punish the shite teams so always likely to drop
Points to the likes of Boston…3 without a win now and likely 4 after Saturday

We either back Grayson get a couple in and have a genuine crack at the
Playoffs…or we bring in some random kid, slide down the league and Grayson ends up looking for a new job around Xmas

Let’s hope the board go for option 1

I doubt we'll slide down the league. We have enough about us to pick up plenty of away points (maybe not on Saturday) but we will struggle to score enough goals to win the home games. If no new players I reckon we will finish just outside the play offs but it will be close enough to keep everyone interested. Just my two penny'orth.

Watching the game tonight - Francis was walking around after the game with an ice pack on his knee. If he's injured then our options are very limited.

In a world where you're looking for a goal against a team who have parked the bus and your only option is to bring 2025 Nicky Featherstone on then I think you have to be realistic and ship some players out on loan and get some in.

No new signings and we’ll be mid table or a little below, injuries and suspensions are only going to keep coming
We haven’t been able to play round pegs in round holes since Benn went off injured, that should tell us somethjng

Francis been a real bright spark but he’s being run into the ground, only going to get worse without new players

A typical bench this year has included a keeper, a center back and 3 defensive mids, it’s obvious and has been since game 1 we are way too light in fwd options

Attention seeking armchair fans don't 'chill.' A disappointing draw is hard to bear when you have so much invested in the team

He can’t chill, the Master of Mirth is never satisfied….even if we’d won he’d have had a grouse, he could even print his reply before that match was played and not blush.

Of course the team is going nowhere 5th top from 7 games and only conceded 2 goals is fecking disgraceful.
We're sat within 4 points of the top, with only 4 of the bookies top 6 favourites above us.
Grayson out, get auld Lennie back FFS!!
Grayson is no mug, he's said himself he wants to bring more players in after the EFL transfer window shuts, let's give him time and be realistic - at the end of the day a few on here were predicting a relegation battle, why aren't they more upbeat that we're doing better than those predictions?

All these fans wanting us to get promoted need to chill the fuck out. We had a fantastic start, which is turning into a good start, which will probably be an ok start in a couple more games. Let's give the hierarchy a chance, what's the point bringing in players before we have the injury crisis etc? No way to run a football club that, we are best of giving the top sides a head start, bring players in October when we are 14th makes the season a tad more exciting.

Was it york who needed 96 points or something last season to finish 2nd? That's a mere 26 more wins or so in 39 matches, piss easy to do when you dont have a forward line so imagine when we do?

Let's just be realistic lower our ambitions drop points to a few of these shite teams lower down and do it all again next season. It's about time we loaned out Alex Reid anyway give these other teams a chance.

Didn't we here all this last year when one of the greatest managers alive had us near the top and we slipp slided away, so nothing to worry about until we get 1 injury or maybe two, its not like any warning signs are beginning to flash up.

There's way more doom and gloom on here than talking about promotion. To be sitting 4 points of top at this stage is good by anyone's standards. Yes we've had some disappointing performances and results but every club will have them. It's 3 days since the EFL transfer window closed and still the first week in September and SG has said he expects more in shortly, surely we can wait at least a week before the panic for new players sets in?
There'll be 19 clubs in this division wishing they were sat where we are this morning.

Calm down Kevin.
Ya should know by now only wins have everybody singing of the same hym sheet.
Maybe 2 home wins in a row.
Something like that like!!

Yeah 19 clubs will be apart from the odd team who has games in hand or maybe doesn't go to the league leaders Saturday. Unfortunately though only 1 team goes up automatically which means just being happy to be near the top still won't get us anywhere. 3 points from last 3 games which could easily be 3 from 4 games is actually relegation form.

No one can deny keeper wise and defensively we are 10 times better than the shite of last season. But let's also not forget we have had months to get the midfield and forward line sorted as well. Top teams or teams that win the league aren't decimated by a couple of injuries we would be screwed.

We can't always just be happy at some stage we are going to have to say we'll we are going to need to win this league. You dont win leagues by being happy with drawing the last 3. We have a way way better start than I thought. But that looks like it will go to waste if we dont act quick.

its obvious we need a couple of right players in but with a slight bit of luck we,d have won last night making a lot of these comments pointless.

Got the feeling early in the second half that the ball just wasn't going to drop kindly for us. Pools played Boston off the park at times, created loads of chances and in the end the only reward was a solo goal of the month contender from Charman. Boston had one decent opportunity and put it away. That's the way it goes sometimes.

Was encouraging to see Grayson switch to an attacking formation at home. Very interesting that on his first start everything went through Brad Walker - calling the shots in central midfield and taking all the free kicks and corners. It was almost a MoM performance - except that he gave the ball away a couple of times with sloppy passes in dangerous areas. I predict Walker will take up Featherstone's mantle as the player a lot of Pools fans love to hate. A few in the Mill House were going mental at his last stray pass - they haven't forgotten that Walker's habit of strolling through games like he's different class only looks good if we're winning!

we can't complain we were unlucky against Boston without accepting we were fortunate against Boreham and Southend

First 7 games we have played 1 likely playoff side (southend) 2 decent sides (Boreham/Altrincham) and 4 shite sides, so relatively easy start....

Grayson deserves credit but its obvious this squad is stretched--we lost our right back and havent been able to play our preferred fwd line since because of it.

I am surprised we didnt try and bring Aygemang in---he looked the ticket a couple of years ago when on loan from Boro and ticks the 'adapatable' box.

Lets see how things play out-but finishing mid table or a bit above shouldnt be seen as success for a club our size in this league.

Wouldnt it have been nice to bring on Mancini last night to get the winner as oppose to Folarin and Featherstone

Strange I reckon Rochdale fans will also be asking that question about it being nice to bring Mancini on - 1 appearance so far for them.

And 1 assist....suspect their squad is a little deeper than ours...

Boston came with a depressing siege mentality…..play for a draw and hope to snatch a win.
They had their catalogue of match killing tactics and played to the script and were rewarded for championing the art of the bland….and a generous helping of luck.
It’s what he does….. he’s a terrier.

Exactly, with such lack of depth a player who features 1 in 6 games is a luxury we can't afford.
