Genuine question, what is it? Just seen the HUST statement re being excluded. What is the point of this panel and what does it do?

where does it say that they are excluded?

I would think (hope) that other supporters groups would refuse to participate if a major group is excluded--not every group or even people within a group need to be in lockstep opinion wise, but exlcuding a group especially one as relatively large as the Trust would seem to be divisive.

Obviously if the Trust themselves have refused to participate that is different

It’s actually getting quite funny now - anyone who dissents gets banned. Be picking off individual fans from the terraces next.
There have been a few article on the club website referencing unity. Have a look in the mirror maybe!

Are we ‘supporters’ or ‘employees’…because that’s how it feels to me sometimes.
Actually, we’re customers … and should be treated as such.

A good point, well made.

The first line of the statement is "We’re disappointed to say that HUST has been excluded from the Supporters’ Panel."

You'd think so but a comittee member of HooC is on the board. The NWC seemed to have been told to reign t in going by their about turn on X. Our chairman has done many things that would seem divisive so this isn't out of the ordinary.

Their statement says it is the clubs decision, not theirs.

We, as fans, don't seem to find out anything from these fan panels. Maybe you have to be in one of the groups that attends but the results should surely be put out for all fans. If the club only want to be told all is good even if it is not then it seems to be only a box ticking exercise anyway.

The only feedback I’ve ever seen is when HUST published the questions and answers on their website. Absolutely nothing from the club, although someone correct me if I’ve missed something.
The others who go along, are they asking questions and being ignored or just sitting there quietly?
The whole thing appears from the outside to be pretty pointless but atleast HUST used the opportunity in the past to raise serious issues. No wonder they were excluded (banned?)

we are but we are customers they,d be happy to do without if they could. bit like the bus drivers comment of it being a great job if it wasn,t for the passengers. never say die should be replaced with pay up and shut up.

I know a few fans who were anti trust a few years back and worshipped their great man.

Now binned Pools off to follow the mighty Gray fields FC.
Which sort of contradicts that the Trust is a good thing and always has the best intentions for HUFC.

Gunna get very interesting if Larry gets DC legendary status.

Words n Opinions eh.

HUST
We’re disappointed to say that HUST has been excluded from the Supporters’ Panel. The decision not to invite us was made before this season’s first meeting took place and without other supporters’ groups discussing it or voting on it. We heard about the meeting and contacted the club to ask if we had been missed off the invitation and were then informed of the club’s decision in a phone call from a member of the club board. This was on the day of the meeting. We asked for the reasons to be confirmed in writing and explained that we thought this was a bad idea. We haven’t received anything in writing yet.

The overall gist of the phone call was that HUST has been negative about the club and that means we’re no longer welcome. We’ve certainly been critical about a number of things, as have many supporters whether they’re our members or not. Pools’ financial situation, and the mounting debt which appears in the club accounts, can’t be ignored. Neither should the unnecessary publicity to do with our best-known fan, or the attempts to stifle criticism in the local media using legal methods. Neither of the journalists banned appear to have done anything beyond repeating or broadcasting the opinions of a prominent football finance expert.

When supporters can see so many things to be concerned about it would be wrong for a Supporters’ Trust to turn a blind eye to avoid offending club officials or the owner. How could we stay quiet when the owner threatens to stop funding the club unless season ticket holders vote for him?

We remain as keen as ever to work with other supporters’ groups and we’d also be happy to return to the Supporters’ Panel if invited. However, when necessary, we will continue to challenge the way the club is run. And we’ll always ask questions on behalf of our members and push for answers if we have to.

It’s a terrible shame that the response of our club to criticism seems to be to ban or avoid the critics rather than engaging with them. Fortunately, we’ve had a great start to the season on the pitch so there aren’t too many dissenting voices at the Vic just now!

The HUST Board.

Hang about…we could all be very wrong…it could be a wooden panel placed over several ‘supports’ in the ceiling…a maintenance issue…but I suspect not..l

When you see them in the seats it just looks like the Balcony in the "Muppets Show"

Very strange how things turn out. I believe it was the trust along with Jeff Stelling who spoke to Raj and got him in, now he forgets that and has nothing to do with either of them. Dave Challinor introduced to the club by Kevin Maguire Obviously did something wrong getting the club promoted and getting the fans praise and adulterations being too popular so got turned against.
The supporters panel are merely yes men and are banned from any questions about the running of the club at least the two old men on the muppets show were allowed to have their say.

when i hear of supporters panels meating club owners and directors my mind goes back to shop stewards and union officials who were quick to sell fellow workers out after having the job for a few months mixing with management.
