It seems as though it depends on the legal advice you receive. Lucy Connolly was advised to plead guilty in order to get a lighter sentence. If she had pleaded not guilty then her trial would have been delayed long enough to get her defence clarified. She seems to have been very badly advised.By pleading not guilty Jones had time to get his defence sorted out based on his ‘mental health’ issues. Even so the not guilty verdict does seem strange. Oddly enough freedom of speech has been given an unexpected boost.

After this verdict surely Lucy Connolly should be released immediately. The next thing to look for is the sentences due to be passed on the Manchester 2.

on top of that the trial was in a court that has given criminals a second chance before when a guilty verdict was expected. seems now that the postcode lottery includes the law now. do not blame jones for pleading not guilty one bit as i,d not admit to any wrong doing and take a chance in court.

exactly, and if lucy connelly had pleaded not guilty she would have quickly been brought to court somewhere and would have got the same outcome had she got. all what will happn now is she,ll end up being a martyr with a big bank balance in the future.
