Driving around the country the Co-op has shops all over the place , yet in the North East they only thing they do is funerals…what happened, as most of their old shop are now owned by larger brands doing the same job they once did.

They have a few down here..large shop spaces,expensive,never busy..I don't know how they keep going..Ok for Ciggie papers and filters .

Plenty in the villiages around me and on the outskirts of the larger towns. more or less large corner shops now but with the odd bargain available. her in the kitchen swears by some of there ready meals but all contain cheese so they exclude me.

The one on Darras Hall has a great wine selection, loads of footballer's wives/ girlfriends/ mothers/ servant types and a good range of chilled foods. Can't remember why I go. Often.

thinking back to the day when the company had one of the most impressive buildings in the town that you could buy anything in to the co ops you see today. its like bristol street motors ending up as a car lot selling 10 high mileage focus,s and corsa,s.

That was the Hartlepool Co—op, then they joined up with the North East Co-op and everything went down the bloody pan.

Why are you so negative Snowy, it’s about choice, there is more to life than buying brown sauce in Lidl, you need to get out a bit more, no barriers at Greatham to stop you only a set of traffic lights.

Cut the crap…little snide cracks prove nowt….why drive 10 miles when you can drive two…ok for you with your servants running back and forth for you snapping your fingers like Minging the Merciless while fumbling with your joss sticks while scanning the internet for bits of info two weeks out of date to fool yourself you’re back in the UK…….it’ll be safe for you to come back one day..,the return of the great traveller from his two overseas expeditions to Thailand and The Isle of Man.
Anyone constantly nibbling away about seeing the world is usually in a back bedroom in their underpants in front of a screen boasting about it..just off West View Road.

Odd thing is…the old Hartlepool Co-op was doing then what the big stores are doing now with local stores…and usually in the old Co-op stores to boot.
