The first two in that race that pulled clear and fought out the finish are worth following:
Distant Storm and Constitution River.
Raging Raj, not in the same class, by a long way.
He first ran in a Class 5 maiden, 4th of 6, then a Class 4 Maiden where he finished 9th of 10.
Yesterday upped to a Class 3 maiden where he predictably finished 11th of 12.
Despite the lack of class this horse exhibits so far, he is actually entered in two very strong auction races coming up in the summer and early October. Again if he takes up these engagements, he will be very big odds indeed.
If I were the trainer, I would see what his allocated handicap rating will be and enter him in a few nursery races.
Depending on the class of the race, he may run a lot better.
He has tried 5f, 6f and 7f so the trainer is either unsure of what is best distance is or is trying to get a lower handicap rating.
I suspect the horse will be gelded over next winter if he does not show any improved form and may end up in Class 5 handicap races or lower, maybe on the All Weather. If that is the case there may be a win or two out of the horse.
