So the first game of the season is surely going to be toxic. Is it better to stay away and have no crowd or to show what a 37% no vote actually looks like?

A reckon it will start off calmish.

3167 (for 4127 sale) crowd.
Then patience will wear thin.

a lot will go down to how the team is playing and the score. doubt 63% will be in the ground at the final whistle if pools get a real hammering against some mighty southern outfit with 8 fans present. it could get really nasty with some looking for trouble before the start.

The 1st of 13 wins n 8 draws required to avoid div 6.

I know its a big ask but let's post positivity.
It makes all the difference.

I think we’ll have a wary crowd, a crowd whose patience will be as thin as toilet paper and expecting very little.
A crowd resigned not to expect much who’ll suddenly have a voice after a summer of silence and fading hope of change…no great expectations and a feeling not of optimism but resentment.
Oh the happy clappy elite who think everything will be ok and actually believe in footballs equivalent of fairy’s down the garden will be in optimistic mode….but they always are, no, this will be a strange opening match, sullen in parts….not exactly dancing in the streets, resigned fans who will take some convincing……the so called take over abandoned to the winds…we’re gonna be surprised or stone faced to begin with…then it’s suck ii and see. sadx

Think the tone will be set by the performance and result from the first game.
Maybe some form of protest and banners, but once the match kicks off I'd imagine it'll be business as usual for most fans in the ground.

Give some fans a sugar coated victory and they stop thinking and are happy…..the thinkers aren’t that easily pacified.

I can see banners getting banned.

A new club law HMS Wakefield or Durham or the new Alcatraz is the punishment to not bow to the Messiah. :angry-tappingfoot:

as i see it we,ll be going into the first home game after 2 aways. we could be anywhere in the league before the game even mathmatically top or bottom. that could be the deciding factor how many will feel before the ko. if we are bottom then i doubt our opponents will get the undecided off there arses anyway being the type of club that could give us our lowest saturday gate anyway.

 Took a while to get to a few sensible comments on this thread. Will there be 'Raj out' banners at the first home game? Will there be an organised protest of any sort? I doubt it.

Non-thinking Poolies (cheers Snowy) will indeed be happy with a good result - and another one, and another... The mood will turn very quickly if Pools struggle like they did last season, especially against bad sides. THEN there'll be protests inside the ground.

Haven't met many fans of any club who aren't happy with a victory - must be an awful lot of non-thinkers out there as far as your thinking elite are concerned

What I said in my post before this last one.

Ooooh we are touchy…..never mind there’ll be a meeting of the ‘Poolie Band of Hope’ and a rousing chorus of ‘Those in Peril in the Stand’….followed by prayers…..and a warm glow of self satisfaction….but nowt’s really changed and there’s the problem …just another new cast of extra’s and misplaced optimism that is never rewarded.
I think it’s called continuity.
