Joe Allon in his first stint with us must have a canny record, ditto Paul Baker

Well he clearly wasn't too keen to get away as surely he'd have signed for somebody else by now, same as Joe- neither can be short of an offer or two.

That suggests that either he wants more money/ security of a longer contract/ new ownership or a combination of ALL three. Maybe he also waiting to see who we sign and whether or not he thinks
we'll have a chance of challenging under the new manager.

Realistically we're not going to be able to replace a striker with almost a goal every other game without shelling out serious money (which ain't going to happen under the current regime)
So why not give him what he wants- and then everyone's a winner?!

Quick look at In The Mad Crowd shows Joe Allon scored 47 goals in 92 league games in 2 seasons from 1989-91 - more than a goal every other game (not counting cup goals).

That record got Pools a promotion and Joe a transfer to Chelsea, not feckin' Harrogate or Rochdale

Doesn't take away from the fact that Mani's goals should have been worth one play-off run to Pools at the very least :x

You and I can see the logic in that but this is the regime that thought Darren Sarll and Paul Hartley were good ideas.
