Not bothered....good luck to him....do not blame him in the slightest. Good luck Fergie lad.

No worries here...we'll bring someone in better and on ' better ' wages he was offered at Pools.

This reminds me of the relegation season under Hartley, not a huge fan of Ferguson but if rumor is right Campbell off as well as mani D and grey will be a bit like Hartley as we get rid of players used to this league and a manager with no experience of it then gets license to bring in a new team….and we all remember how that worked out

Good luck to the lad.
Always put in a hundred percent and probably needs a fresh challenge.

Yeh got worse every season but seemed a decent bloke and always tried, wouldn’t begrudge him doing well.

I am worrried at the quality that will replace him though

Won't need to be really good, Fergys strength was never his defensive qualities it was his attacking support and quality of delivery which is on the wane over the last couple of seasons.
Most bang average wingers will shine against him unless he has good cover in front and around him.
All the same good luck to him except when he's playing against us of course.

Fergie is the last full member of Pools' promotion winning squad to leave. He only missed 3 games that season, so thanks for those memories and good luck!

Who?

Isn't he going to ...?

Fair play, I missed him - Fergie played a couple more games even than Fev the year we went up.

He was excellent in the Promotion season.
But went rapidly down hill after that.

Won't be missed.

But will his replacement be an upgraded promotion player?!

Interesting comment from Fergie in Sunderland Echo "He [Gateshead Manager] asked what my situation was, it was still up in the air at Hartlepool but things didn’t fizzle out how they thought they were going to go."

Seems like Gateshead is a bigger attraction than Pools especially if the rumour on here that Campbell wants to go there is correct.

Thats a bad situation but the normal nowadays is ya only sign for Pools when nobody else wants you.

A rapid decline since DC left for sure.

Have we become the last resort for players now.
Football has it’s grapevine.

No doubting his commitment and attitude, which were first class, and the fact that he rarely missed a game and or got sent off etc. In saying that though, that alone is not always enough, his performances have gradually got worse over the last couple of seasons, possibly due to those playing alongside him, it was telling that when Parkes arrived his levels seemed to go up, but then Parkes himself IMO hit a sticky patch in the second half of last season.

One of those players I believe is an ideal player to have on the bench, its not just about having a good first eleven, especially these days. For that reason I would have liked him to have stayed, but if he wants regular first team football, then a move will be best for him and the club. His days certainly looked numbered, though I doubt he'll be replaced by anyone any better.

Is it just simply a case of Grayson doesn't fancy him? When that Robinson lad from Carlisle came in for him we looked a lot better side, a bit younger and quicker. I've always liked Ferguson but I'm pretty sure Grayson can see what everyone else can.

The problem is there's more solid information about who might be leaving than who might be coming in.

Fergie always gave his best for Pools but quite often his best just wasn't good enough. I actually thought he was a bit better last season than the one before, when he really struggled - especially after he was made captain by Askey.

Campbell is another one I won't be crying crocodile tears over if he leaves. It's hard to think of a single game last season that he impacted. He looks busy, but there's rarely any end product - 2 goals and 2 assists in 38 appearances from an attacking midfielder

if we replaced fergie and campbell with someone better i doubt any fan will miss them. thats the fear factor coming into it with many as they feel the club will be unable to do that.

Cracking goodbye message from him, genuinely seems like a good bloke, forgetting what peoples opinions were of him as a player always tried his best

Remember him coming out with ear phones on to help a mascot who was a bit overwhelmed feel comfortable doing the same, that’s above and beyond any opinion on him as a footballer, hope things go well for him on and off the pitch

This

Regardless of what you thought of him- ALWAYS gave 100%

Plus how can we feasibly allow him to leave, when we haven't signed ONE player- let alone his replacement stpid
