More recently, Simon has experienced management roles in both the Nepal and Indian Super Leagues.

Hasn't managed in England in 4 years after he was sacked by Fleetwood...

On the plus side, he'd beat Lenny Lawrence in an egg and spoon race.

Welcome to Radgys new care home on Clarence Road.
And congratulations on winning the Mount Everest Shield.
If you're sharing a bunk bed with Lennie I recommend the top sleeper for safety reasons.

He won’t be here long enough, managers here come with use by dates stamped on their forehead as Raj rotates his crop of mangers when they get daft ideas like building a team and getting involved.

Obviously Grayson is desperate for a job. Like a lot of previous managers, nothing wrong with his CV or past record, but in the clubs current situation, I can't think of a worse choice of manager. Maybe the compensation from having your contract terminated early, is now the attraction of managing Pools.

And so it goes on, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse a......

Grayson’s had a few payoffs in his time, it’s a nice earner.

I don't think it's a bad appointment tbh, he should have enough about him to make a decent fist out of it. Part of me is hoping , as someone else has pointed out, that's he's not another Keith Curle. He has a reputation as someone who sets up not to get beat rather than sets up to win. We'll see how it pans out I guess.
I still think it's a bit shan on limbrick.

You could say that about every experienced manager outside the Alex Fergusons of this world.

It's the latest turn on the HUFC managerial roundabout and heavy odds to end in failure, but Grayson's main crime in Poolies' eyes is accepting a job from Raj Singh.

It's not like he's been out of football for over a decade like LL or even as long as the odious Dave Jones. You don't go halfway round the world like Grayson has to stay in football management if you don't love the job.

In English football he's never managed below League One level. Got sacked at Fleetwood at the end of 2021- another basket case club who've been through another 4 managers since.

My expectations are rock bottom, but that's more down to how the club is being run.

Behave trying to see a positive in every mine in the minefield…..the club’s in the doldrums and these moves are only going to impress the gullible and the sheep.

my main worries are he was up and down as a manager anyway. As someone stated it smacks a bit of keith curle. unlike curle he has been out of the country for 4 years and i cannot see anybody at the club capable of bridging that gap for him to know who and what to sign at this level. do feel sorry for limbrick as the bloke was originally employed to do the job this season and only be assistant last. the old git certainly used and abused the bloke big time when he waved his white flag on the job he was doing.

any fan who does not like the appointment will not have too long to wait until he follows the rest of them and just be a statistic. thats the plus side of supporting pools if you do not like the current manager.

I don’t know what level of professionalism and rigour goes in to Pools scouting network but the biggest challenge facing Grayson is that he needs to recruit quickly, and presumably he has hardly any knowledge of the league or the area.

And on the off chance you can identify the players that would work well, you then have to persuade them to come to Hartlepool. Players will be wanting to go somewhere that 1) pays well; 2) has stability; 3) is well located.

Not sure Pools will be at the top of many players lists.

If there are they are likely to be last resort journeymen - it takes time to court and capture decent players especially for Pools.

He might have identified some decent players in India after spending a few years there, not sure Singh would have that as Pakistanis and Indians don’t get along.

Not sure setting up not to get beat is a style that would suit us though?, we've had a defence which can so easily be breached for far too long now, and can you really see us bringing in defenders who can reverse that trend?, .....if only.

He’s got as good a CV as any that this disaster of a football club could attract however despite his limitations I think Limrick has been shabbily treated.

Double speak…it’s become popular to buy a season ticket then wring one’s hands in utter despair and bemoan the state of the club to the world…there’s just different levels….their positivity seeps out and they can’t control it. Like an involuntary spasm.
The lines are not exactly hard to read between.

So you're a mind reader now sctatchinghead  Crank.

Won't be buying another season ticket until there are new owners. Already said that - and I also said I'll be going to the first game of the season. Like most Poolies will.

When that day comes, I'd lay odds none of the brave lads talking about a boycott on here will be outside the ground trying to organise one.

won't be any signings announced until early July once June contracts are up is my guess, that's also when the Grey, Dodds, Sheron and Mani D departures will be confirmed, assuming the clubs who they are already lined up with are more professional than ours which doesn't take much

On another of your threads you say something sensible for a change:
"Can we stop blaming the club….it’s been around a long time and is an inanimate object."

Precisely. I'm loyal to my club. Watched the sides HUFC put out right through the 70s and 80s when we won naff all and staggered from financial crisis to re-election bid to financial crisis. So sadly the last few seasons of utter dross is nothing new.

Now if you're going to insinuate that I'm 'loyal' to Raj Singh why don't you have a trawl through my posts and find one that suggests that might be the case? That's 'not your style' either is it?

Who mentioned a boycott sctatchinghead …not me.
So don’t associate me with them.
As for being a mind reader, er not my style, but there is a little point you’ve overlooked…you’d need a mind for me to read…but then the loyalists tend to act on reflex and avoid thought……

There you go again

The club and the owners are two different entities….one fixed, the other transitional.
It’s like a car and its owner, you can admire the car but think the owner is a poor driver and damaging the car with his poor driving.
I’m simply asking people to refer to the driver as the problem and not the car….and direct any damage towards the driver….differentiating claims.
The 70’s and 80’s had few highlights but this is on a different level…..in those days four letters to the Football Mail were the only public reaction fans could muster and they’d be well picked to avoid even mild controversy…..we were muted, it’s a more informed world and fans finally can express their opinion.
The only person insinuating you’re ‘Reg’ is …….yourself, so I can’t help you there….as for trawling through posts ……you are correct on that point, it’s not my style at all.

One cannot support the club with ones cash without supporting Raj. It's just not possible. Every penny given to the club validates Raj's ongoing presence and in his mind is a vote of confidence in him by the fans. I'm not sure how that is 'supporting' the club in any way shape or form. At some point people have to grow a set and stand up to his thinly veiled threats which are basically buy tickets, stroke my ego or I will bring about the death of the club. Thats a bully right there. Tine to stop quaking and tell him to do one.

So attending matches, cheering the team on, sharing in the wins losses and draws isn't supporting the club in any shape or form? I think you'll find it's actually more or less the dictionary definition of being a football supporter.
You can go to games but still want him gone.

This is a reasonable view point---the fans are in a shit situation--i just hope the songs for him and his board to fuck right off are loud and long !
