...I was reading an old Viz annual from 1997 that I'd found and was reading 'Nobby's Piles', where he was laying on the operating table as the surgeons were about to snip his 'farmer Giles', when at that exact moment in walks the local M.P. to halt proceedings, by saying....'I'm BAXTER BASICS M.P. Minister for Health and in order to improve health care provisions in the community, shorten waiting lists and increase patient choice, I'm closing this hospital'...Poor old Nobby is sent on his way with this advice from the M.P ...There, go home and rest assured that the health service is safe in our hands ....what a coincidence eh? :roll:

HOW WET WAS THE ARTICLE IN THE MAIL THE OTHER NIGHT WHERE OUR TWO PRINCIPLE ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES WERE CAMPAIGNING FOR BUS LINKS TO OUT OF TOWN HOSPITALS? :roll:

SURELY THEY SHOULD BE CAMPAIGNING TO KEEP OUR FKIN HOSPITAL INSTEAD OF GIVING UP?! banghead

I love how they local 'establishment' just accept it... The real piss off, is how the so called public bodies have public consultation meetings and do just what they were gonna do in the first place anyway!, .....does anyone actually believe they listen....?

consultation is a fancy word for everyone on both sides sitting down in a room, and being told what is going to happen by the people with the most power.

...as we all feel so helpless as the suited legions order our lives about, why don't the people have someone they can appeal to to stand up for them... we could call them ............ M.P's!!!!! :roll:

like where they said the service from fens to the hospital is poor on a night.
