TBH its had its day as it was in a dilapidated state even when it was open.
No doubt the machine at the engineers club will make the short journey across town.

The Odeon site is now covered with grass and an abundance of poppies making it look like the "we will remember them" photo. Sadly we have to rely on acts of arson to take things forward!

Any ideas about what the situation is with the Mill House pub and the RAFA?

Some blokes clearing the empty site next to the Travellers rest too.

Stuff is happening at last.

The Mill House has new owners, supposedly going to be a restaurant.
If so,they they must have knowledge of the area being redeveloped.

That Mill House was built with quality gear and surely another use can be found for the original pool building at least which is an impressive building…….the new place will doubtless be lovely inside, but from the outside looks like a waste transfer station.

Would make a great indoor training centre for Pools but would need a lot of investment for refurbishing it.

Aye, but a good use as the building itself is sound, even the external brickwork on the pool part is engineering bricks.
I can vouch for that.

Externally ok but internally Electrical, plumbing, heating systems etc all over 50 years old, in the end might be cheaper to demolish it.

I have spoken to a few business people in Seaton and everyone has a different view on whats going to happen to the Staincliffe.
I ve heard everything from it being done up,demolished, houses, pub and apartments and even some type of childrens facility(?).

Sue Littler the Seaton councillor posted this on Arsebook as regard the Staincliffe.
"Very excited news coming shortly"
I wish she was speaking about Pools!

The fencing/screening was too good for a demolition job.
Be interesting to see what it entails in a residential location…..if Houchen’s being ‘secret’ so must our Council…. they’re saying nothing either.

The Staincliffe is up for sale, have the current owners got fed up of being knocked back for their proposed development plans ?

An ‘event’s centre for children’ could cover a wide spectrum of uses, surely the neighbours have a right to know exactly what it involves.
I would.

They don’t make it easy, composed by a Dalek sniffing Spirit of Ammonia.
One concern I do have is the vacant land between the Premier Travel Inn and the Museum of Hartlepool that gives a vista of the marina may have flats or house built and block it out and keep the view for the house owners.
These developments I’ve visited around the country generally have buildings with a sympathetic maritime appearance…but here it’s the bog standard rabbit boxes. sadx

Well it’s all very tidily fenced off, so maybe the advertising’ is just catching up with reality….you aren’t gonna spend that much money for a viewing.

Seaton Station 0.7 miles….

Hartlepool Station 1.6 miles.

Redcar Station …..4.9 miles…..It is if you’ve got a boat to get across the Tees. It’s actually 21.3 miles:laugh:

Could be mistaken but driving past there earlier saw a woman walking round putting leaflets through doors…could be double glazing but you never know.
Has it got planning permission because everything seems to be kept in the dark now.

If the AA and RAC can do it, they can…that’s misleading info.
