I know many on this board are not interested in the Premier League but my grandad was an avid Sunderland supporter so I am delighted to see them back at the top.

I only hope that they take heed of the recent relegation of the three promoted clubs and strengthen the squad to achieve survival.

Have lots of friends and relatives who are big Sunderland fans, so well done to them, their support today deserved it.

I don’t get anyone who is anti Sunderland. i’ve never heard a bad word about Pools from a Mackem, they kind of look upon Pools as their little brother. I have no time for Middlesbrough or Newcastle but i’m please for then Maclean that they won this.

It’s a well done from me too.
Sheffield United will be gutted as they were the best team on the day but it’s balls in the onion bag that counts

French owned, French manager, some French players and quite a few local lads. Their defence is nowhere near good enough for the Prem at the minute but they're a good counter-attacking side.

They won a game they should have lost, whereas we lose games we should have won. Went off them after we gave them a decent game at the Stadium of Light and their manager never gave us any credit at all, blamed his players for making hard work of it. Probably shouldn't hold it against the club, more that knobhead Mccarthy. Great to see them do it, and basically on a shoe string and loads of young guns.

think you,ll get your wish. seems odd getting so exited when your team wins promotion only to wake up next day knowing they,ll be in a big relegation battle. at least the club finances will be better in two years time with the money made out of promotion plus the amount received for relegation.

another good reason for a few more pools fans to stay away if they think its better watching a losing premier league team than a national league one with shit players from both sides involved.

Yes admission prices at Sland have been cheap and if this continues some will be tempted to go up the road and see some internationals play for a few quid more.

more so with york. hate the play offs even if we have had a success in them. its all about money creation and not about the best teams getting promoted over a normal full season that is the top ones in that division. not one who might just get lucky in an end of season 3 match tournament.

I enjoy the Play-Offs...especially when a team miles behind the others wins it...all part of the excitement.
